St Mary's Catholic Primary School, Uxbridge is a State Primary school for kids aged 3 to 11 (Gender - Mixed). For all pupils to: Have a Catholic Christian education based on the life and teaching of Jesus Christ, in which the values of the Gospel underpin all aspects of school life. To develop and grow spiritually and emotionally. Become fluent and confident readers and to develop an appreciation and love of Reading whilst gaining knowledge across the curriculum. Use excellent basic skills across the curriculum including Reading, writing and mathematics. Develop a sense of morality, respect and community. Be excited by the curriculum and want to learn. Retain key knowledge in all curriculum areas. Become independent, resilient and divergent learners so they are ready for secondary school (and beyond). Be challenged and make progress across all areas of the curriculum (including disadvantaged pupils and those with a special need and/or disability). Have a broad and lasting knowledge of subject specific vocabulary. Have a wide range of life experiences that enhance their learning (including trips and extra-curricular activities).

Facilities

Curriculum: At St. Mary’s they have designed our curriculum with pupils’ learning at the centre with the aim of ensuring that all pupils make progress. They recognise that a curriculum has to be broad, balanced and offer pupils opportunities to grow as individuals as well as learners. As a Catholic School, the teachings of the gospels are at the centre of everything they do. Pupils are taught to treat each other with respect and to support each other in their learning. They aim to ensure that pupils enjoy learning and feel prepared for life after school. They intend to offer our pupils new and exciting experiences that are designed to build resilience, confidence and self-esteem both in the classroom and through extra-curricular activities. We recognise that pupils should be challenged in their school; learning from failures and celebrating successes. They intend for the curriculum to enable pupils to develop their interpersonal skills, creativity and independence. It is the intention that pupils leave St. Mary’s with a sense of belonging to a community where they have the confidence and skills to make decisions, self-evaluate, make connections and become lifelong learners.

SEN, Inclusion & Disability: The school has been awarded the prestigious IQM Inclusive School Award. The Inclusion Quality Mark Award provides UK schools with a nationally recognised validation of their inclusive practice and ongoing commitment to developing educational inclusion. 

Spiritual, Moral, Social & Cultural Development: They develop the pupil's spiritual, moral, social and cultural development through our everyday teaching and whole school rules, routines and practice.Through our RE Scheme, pupils are taught to reflect on their own beliefs and to respect the faiths, feelings and values of others. Each class finds out about a different faith and they take part in visits to various places of worship. 

School Clubs: Throughout the school year they extra-curricular activities available for the children that take place at various times throughout the school day, with the majority starting at 3:30pm.School Clubs are a great way for your children to make new friends or learn a new skill. If you would like to book your child into a Club, please ask the office if there are any spaces available. Letters and documents regarding school clubs are sent out at the end / beginning of every term. Please be aware that the clubs can fill up very quickly and they will try to do our best to evenly provide spaces for each class.
