Early Years
TPS uses the ‘Statutory Early Years framework’ (2014) and Development matters’ (2012) to meet the legal, learning and development requirements outlined for the early years foundation stage, coupled with the tarbiyyah curriculum, which comprises of Islamic studies, as well as Arabic and Qur’aan.The school is committed to the 4 principles of the early years which include: unique child, positive relationships, enabling environments which supports learning and development towards the 17 Early Learning Goals (ELGs). Practitioners follow the observation, assessment and planning (OAP) cycle to plan a balance of adult led and child led activities.
Primary Curriculum
Tarbiyyah Primary School is a faith based independent primary school and our curriculum is designed to reflect our ethos as well as to support our aims and values. Through our holistic programme of studies during school time, as well as extra-curricular activities, we are committed to giving learners a broad, balanced and relevant educational experience that will prepare them for each next stage in their learning.
Arabic & Qur’aan
At TPS, Arabic and Qur’an classes are taught separately and take place daily for 30 – 45 minutes. We use the ‘Kitabi Arabic Curriculum’ to deliver Arabic lessons from Reception through to Year 6. Arabic lessons comprises of: Learning Qur’anic Arabic as a language – speaking, listening, reading, writing, spelling, vocabulary and grammar Qur’aan lessons comprises of: Memorisation, The Qur’anic rules of recitation (Tajweed) and Tafsir
After School Clubs
At TPS they run a range of after school clubs to provide the children with the opportunity to participate in activities that they enjoy and that will enhance their skills and broaden their learning experiences.
Self Defence Club
At Tarbiyyah they value safety and believe it is important that our children know how to defend themselves and others. It is equally important that they understand that they should not use their combat skills for aggression.
Adult Events and Clubs
At Tarbiyyah they care about Adults just as much as our children! We are a community charity and therefore also ensure that the well being of our parents and the wider Tarbiyyah family are looked after.
