Curriculum
At Beechfield they follow a subject specific curriculum with a clear progression of knowledge and skills set out for each year group. They want the children to be strong readers, writers and mathematicians and expect them to apply this knowledge, and these skills, across our curriculum. School trips and visitors are carefully planned to enhance and enrich the curriculum provision and to provide our pupils with experiences they may not otherwise have. A nurturing ethos runs through the curriculum and they focus on the children's personal development as well as their academic achievement. They teach the children to be responsible, resilient, tolerant and compassionate. We believe that physical and emotional wellbeing is imperative for success.

Pastoral Care
Lara Carvalho and Michelle Ward work together as the Pastoral Support Team. They provide a range of services to support children and their families in line with the National Nurturing Schools Programme. They are embedding the Six Principles of Nurture across the school and amongst all stakeholders to develop a nurturing culture that promotes healthy outcomes for children by focusing on emotional needs and development as well as academic learning.
