The Prepatoria School is Independent Primary school in Shropshire for kids aged 5 to 7 (Gender - Mixed )
Shrewsbury Prepatoria was born out of a desire to create a new model for education for children in the early years. They’ve combined the Reggio Emilia education principles with the in-depth knowledge of child development, pedagogy and the British education system to create a unique ‘Prepatoria Education’. The highly qualified team of practitioners and support staff share a love of children, a desire to make a difference and extensive knowledge of child development. All the staff are qualified to Level Three as a minimum requirement.

Nursery
Toddlers learn best when they are actively engaged in their learning. These active learners are becoming independent, their drive to discover and explore is strong but the skills to communicate their wants and needs is, frustratingly for them, immature.Their need for physical activity and afternoon naps is balanced in our well-designed toddler space. Here an open plan room gives access to sinks, toilets and coat pegs promoting independence, a quiet library area provides vital opportunity for rest and quiet story times with special people.
Pre School
Collaboration, negotiation and hypothesis define the curriculum. What happens if, why and how are key questions which must be answered. The skilful teachers don’t simply provide answers, understanding that proposing further questions enables and encourages the development of creative and critical thinking.The Pre-school department is an exciting indoor and outdoor environment. An Atelier of Taste, doubling as the community dining room, provides opportunities for children to learn about food and the senses. Children will investigate food, tastes, sounds, sights and smells. Cooking and science lessons take place here and children are challenged to think differently about the food they eat. All children, except babies, share this community dining space to enjoy meals with their teachers, supported by our wonderful catering team.

Learning beyond the classroom walls
The gardens and wooded areas are a classroom too; one without walls, where the ceiling is the sky, where you can touch, you can run, you can climb, and you can shout! This is a classroom in which it is essential to dig, mix, transport, ride, balance and race.All children spend lots of time out of doors every day, whatever the weather! Lessons outdoors are not dependent upon the weather, we believe there is no such thing as bad weather, just inappropriate clothes.Wonderful resources provide opportunities for risk taking with access to a well-stocked Tool Shed where children learn to use tools, such as real saws, hammers and drills. Gardening implements are provided to enable children to dig, water and grow plants.
