The Viking School provides a rich, balanced and varied curriculum, alongside providing a warm and stimulating learning environment. As the only independent school in the Skegness area, we are able to provide an education which is tailored to each child's needs, helping every one of our pupils reach their full potential.A highly-motivated team of teaching staff, small class sizes and a caring, familial atmosphere, provide a learning environment where each individual can grow in confidence and competence, increasing their overall enthusiasm for learning. Although we attach a high priority to academic excellence, all staff work hard to aid each child to develop and excel in its' own talents, wherever they may lie. Facilities
Pre-school
The Preschool department is open to all children, regardless of whether they intend to progress into main school. Children are eligible for entry as soon as they reach 2 years of age. The three wellequipped and professionally staffed classroom areas are located within the school grounds and include an all weather play area and garden.The experienced staff provides a stimulating learning environment which enables children to acquire the necessary knowledge, skills and practical abilities essential for the smooth transition of your child into fulltime education. All of the children are encouraged to participate in child initiated play which encourages friendships and builds confidence and independence.
Preparatory school
The school is predominately situated in a large comfortable house, alongside other purpose built classrooms. Each classroom houses a separate year group and are well- equipped with modern facilities including PC's with internet access. All pupils also have access to a bank of portable, wireless linked, laptops. A homely assembly hall provides the facilities for drama, music and dining. Children enjoy breaks in an adequate play area, as well as accessibility to a small gardening plot. Alongside the facilities available within the school grounds, children use a nearby church hall for sporting activities. In summer months the school is privileged to use the facilities at the Skegness Grammar School for physical education, culminating each year with a Sports Day for the whole school. Pupils attend swimming lessons year-round at a local swimming pool.

Additional support and assistance is always available. Mediation between class teacher, parents and pupils ascertain whether a child sits the examination or if their attention would be better applied in other areas.All pupils receive full reports at the end of the Autumn and Summer terms and one formal Parents Evening is conducted at the end of the school year. However, there are frequent opportunities throughout to meet your child's teachers. We operate an open-door policy and the Principal, Headteacher and class teachers are always available to speak to parents, usually without an appointment.At the Viking School, they believe that children learn best within a settled, secure and friendly atmosphere. They endeavour to ensure that each child will learn and be happy whilst at the school and we certainly have high, yet attainable, expectations of the children both in their learning and behaviour.
