Curriculum
The staff at Wakefield Grammar Pre-Preparatory School plan with four key drivers at the forefront of their thinking in order to ensure that learning is as relevant as possible for the children. The key drivers underpin all aspects of the curriculum, they are: Reading, High Aspirations, Creativity and Child Initiated/Play Based Learning. Forest School
Into the forest and beyond – our exciting trips and visits, they bring subjects and learning to life with a diverse programme of educational trips and visits. Regular learning in our Forest School further enhances learning, helping each child to take an interest in the world around them and safely develop a sense of endeavour and fearlessness as they explore.

Sport
From an early age, children love sport and in turn, we love to give them a broad and action-packed experience of sporting activities. The unbeatable combination of specialist PE teachers, fantastic sporting facilities and the 3 dedicated hours they allocate every week for sport, gives them every opportunity to discover where their talents lie and develop a love of sport which will last them a lifetime.
Enrichment
With 25 wonderfully well-resourced co-curricular clubs available, our aim is to give young minds a rich and well-rounded view of the world. The enrichment activities are designed to ignite new interests, develop skills, broaden horizons and promote a ‘can-do’ approach to life. They encourage children to use their imaginations through art and design, music, dance, role play and voice in a way that makes life stimulating and rewarding.
