Facilities

Pre-Prep and Nursery
At Ranby House they have an environment like no other; warm and welcoming with a strong community feel. The Pre-Prep department is no different, providing strong foundations for your child. By joining us at age two, they can provide a strong start to your child’s education before they progress through to reception and beyond.

Prep School
Here at Ranby House we have one clear purpose – to provide each child with the best opportunity to lead a happy and successful life. Your child’s future really does matter to us, whatever they should choose to do.Some schools decide to focus on grades to measure their success, but they measure ours by looking at the whole child and their progress.

Senior School
Here at Worksop College they have specific programmes to suit each individual; aiming to inspire and encourage. As a non-selective school, they pride ourselves on bringing out the best in every student -measuring individual progress rather than league tables, while still producing outstanding results.

Sixth Form
From significant investment in infrastructure and learning spaces to experienced and talented teaching staff, there has never been a better time to join us. The outstanding facilities and wide range of subjects are what makes our Sixth Form stand out.

Features

Things to note

Outside the Classroom
From music to sports, theatre performances to a wide range of clubs and activities, the impressive Co-Curricular Programme is a big part of every pupil’s time at school. Our out-of-school expeditions are designed to teach self-reliance, and beginning with activities such as overnight activities in neighbouring Sherwood Forest - these can lead to five-day camps in the Lake District or Snowdonia, and as children move up through school, these can lead to month long expeditions to some of the most far-flung places in the world.

Music
Music touches the lives of the whole school community. Singing binds us together in weekly congregational practice and chapel services, and our walls echo to the sound of music-making, from enthusiastic renditions of traditional songs in Pre-Prep to the most refined, sophisticated classical music in Mountgarret Music School.Encouraged from the moment they express an interest in music,  all pupils from the age of 3 have specialist class music teaching, complemented by an enviable programme of individual tuition -  beginning in Nursery with Kickstarter lessons and progressing to individual lessons in piano and orchestral instruments,  or singing, when pupils are ready

Drama
Drama is growing in popularity within the Extra-Curricular Programme in the evenings and at weekends and our annual musicals are fast-becoming the hottest ticket in town. Our annual 'Night at the Musicals' evening allows a greater number of pupils - including Old Worksopians - to perform solo, duet or group numbers from a broad range of shows. There are also plans for a Junior Production, to give our most talented young performers a chance to shine.
