  • Mansion: Georgian Mansion built to impress and commissioned in 1782 for Noel Hill, 1st Lord Berwick. Picture gallery was designed by John Nash. Also includes hidden home and wallpaper conservation studio tours.
  • Walled Garden: Walled kitchen garden and orchard from around 1780s. Includes a bothy and glasshouses growing fruit, vegetables and flowers. National Collection of camassia flowers in May.
  • Pleasure Grounds: Shrub and tree landscaped area designed by Thomas Leggett between 1770-72. Includes Mile Walk, restoration of original planting plan is ongoing.
  • Natural Play Area: The Field of Play is a playful landscape that gives children a big natural space with freedom to run or play, to enjoy a sense of discovery, adventure and exploration.
  • Estate: Includes woodland, walk routes, deer park and a variety of wildlife, River Tern runs through the estate. Designated SSSI for saproxylic insects.
  • Deer Park: Established in the early 1800s by 2nd Lord Bewick. Home to the Attingham fallow deer, which are descendants of the original deer herd.
  • Shopping: Stables Shop with wide range of gifts, homeware, local products and seasonal plant sales. Extensive second-hand bookshop.
  • Things to do in the Mansion at Attingham Park: Built for the first Lord Berwick in 1785, and replacing Tern Hall, Attingham Hall and its beautiful parkland were owned by one family for more than 160 years. As their fortunes rose and fell, the family proved themselves to be spenders, savers and saviours - providing a fascinating story of love and neglect, the marks of which still stand in Attingham’s rooms today.
  • Visiting the garden at Attingham Park: Step out on a walk in Attingham's garden and discover a restored Walled Garden, two-acre orchard and historic pleasure grounds teeming with wildlife. Be inspired to grow your own seasonal fruit and veg by visiting the Georgian Kitchen Garden.
  • Explore the parkland at Attingham: The Berwicks only lived at Attingham for 200 years but their legacy lives on in this Shropshire country estate. From ancient trees and wildflowers, to native species, the parkland at Attingham includes woods, a deer park, and the River Tern. Attingham is designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).
  • A family day out at Attingham Park: There's plenty for families to do at Attingham Park, including seasonal trails, adventuring in the Field of Play and woodland walks. Find out what's on and plan your visit.

Facilities

  • Parking: Designated parking is available for blue badge holders. Twelve electric vehicle charging points are now available. See “Facilities” for more information. Drivers will require their own cables to charge.
  • Dogs allowed: Dogs must be on leads in all outdoor areas of the site at all times except for in the designated off-lead areas. Assistance dogs are welcome inside the café, shop, Mansion, and bookshop.

Top trails:

  • Attingham Park autumn light walk: Explore the changing colours of the Deer Park this autumn with a walk taking in views over the open Shropshire landscape to the river, and of the orange-gold trees that mark the start of the woodland. See if you can spot some of Attingham's fallow deer along the way and see the unusual view of Attingham's Regency mansion from the park.
  • Attingham Park Repton ramble trail: Walk in the footsteps of the leading 18th-century landscape designer Humphry Repton on this circular trail around Attingham Park estate. Commissioned by the 2nd Lord Berwick in 1797, Repton redesigned the grounds here at Attingham. This walk highlights the changes he proposed and the views of the Mansion house and across the River Tern and Deer Park that his designs created.
  • Wildlife walk at Attingham Park: This circular walk starts in the Stables Courtyard at Attingham Park and follows the Deer Park walk and centuries-old routes in the beautiful parkland of this great estate and by the River Tern.
