Set in the scenic Pennine foothills, it offers a full day of fun with access to the small mammal house, reptile house, indoor and outdoor play areas, adventure playground, and daily animal talks and races. Home to hundreds of animals including meerkats, llamas, alpacas, ponies, pigs, and sheep, the farm also features feeding sessions and milking demonstrations. Children can enjoy zip lines, tower slides, a tube maze, and The Climbing Forest, while toddlers have a dedicated under-fours zone. The Hungry Llama Indoor Play includes nine slides and a 350-seat restaurant, and visitors can also explore the farm shop, dog-friendly café, and restaurant.

  • Easy to find next to Cannon Hall Museum about 5 miles west of Barnsley, signposted of the A635 and only 10 minutes from junction 37 of the M1.
  • Driving Directions: Follow the signs for Manchester A628 then pick up the brown signs for CANNON HALL. Go past the first car parks just after the hump backed bridge and follow the OPEN FARM ONLY sign. The road bends round to the left and up the hill. The farm is a right turn signposted before the brow of the hill.
  • Public Transport: If you want to use the bus, the 94 & 94a service from Barnsley runs daily (except Sundays) into Cawthorne village. We are then only a pleasant stroll away through the grounds of Cannon Hall.
  • Car Parking: Parking is available close to the farm. Up to one hour is free for farm shop customers only. Up to two hours costs £1 and all day parking is £3. Disabled parking is free for blue badge holders.
