Meanwood Valley Urban Farm in Leeds is a 26-acre working farm and registered charity, offering a unique blend of community, environmental, and educational experiences. Open seven days a week, visitors can explore the farm’s animals, gardens, and flourishing woodland. The farm features sheep (and lambs in spring), cows, pigs, goats, chickens, alpacas, rabbits, guinea pigs, and occasionally donkeys, all cared for with high welfare standards and moved around the site for their wellbeing. Meanwood Valley Urban Farm also supports conservation with a breeding programme for rare breeds such as the Whitefaced Woodland sheep, preserving biodiversity for future generations.
The farm offers a hands-on learning experience for youth groups, and adults with learning disabilities, alongside seasonal farm produce for sale. Admission is £3 for adults, 50p for children, and free for under 2s.
