Cardigan Castle is a castle overlooking the River Teifi in Cardigan, Ceredigion, Wales. It is a Grade I listed building. The castle dates from the late 11th-century, though was rebuilt in 1244. Castle Green House was built inside the castle walls in the early 1800s.

Facilities

  • Parking: There is no on-site parking for day visitors. Parking is reserved for those staying at the Castle. The nearest car park is located at the bottom of Quay Street, which is a 1 minute walk from the Castle.
  • Toilets: We have toilets and baby changing facilities at the Castle shop and in Castle Green House.
  • Dogs: Dogs on leads are allowed, £2 per dog with a maximum of 2 dogs per visitor. Dogs are not usually allowed for events outside of normal opening (i.e. dogs are not allowed at the Christmas Fair, Concerts etc). 

What to see

Events:

  • The Window From Wales: Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at 7:30 PM - 9:00 pm. A new production, which forms part of Black History Month, tells the story of Welsh stained glass artist John Petts. It takes us on a journey across continents and through time to uncover the powerful story of how a horrific act of murder in 1963 in Alabama ignited a quiet flame of compassion in his heart and the hearts of the Welsh nation.
  • DARK TOURS OF WALES – Cardigan Castle Ghost Tour (7th and 8th November): Friday, November 7, 2025 at 6:00 PM. Join Dark Wales Tours as we explore the incredible history of Cardigan Castle and hear of numerous paranormal experiences that have been recalled over the years. We will enter the rooms where these experiences have been reported.
