Cleddau Woodlands

Description

The sheltered Cleddau waterways run through the county from Haverfordwest to Milford Haven and combines four rivers to make the Daugleddau Estuary ( literally translated as the two Cleddau estuaries).

From the coastal port of Milford Haven, it winds its way through the industrial town of Pembroke Dock and then inland to the peaceful villages of Lawrenny, Carew, Cresswell Quay and Llangwm before splitting into two, the Eastern and Western Cleddau.

The Western strand passes along Hook and Little Milford where the remains of limekilns and former coal mines can be found. The Eastern strand passes along Landshipping towards Canaston bridge and along the way there is ancient quiet woodland with rocky tidal creeks. It’s the perfect place to watch wildlife so don’t forget your binoculars. If you’re looking for the best place to visit with family and kids, this is a perfect choice for a fun and relaxing day out.
