Godshill Model Village is a charming miniature attraction set within two acres of beautiful landscaped gardens. Located in the Old Vicarage grounds in Godshill, it recreates scenes of Shanklin and Godshill as they looked in the 1920s. It offers a peaceful and nostalgic day out for families, garden lovers, and curious explorers.

Visitors can wander through detailed 1/10th scale models of cottages, pubs, and churches, along with a delightful garden railway inspired by the Island Line. The gardens feature over 3,000 conifers and shrubs, many shaped using the Japanese niwaki pruning style. Facilities include a seasonal refreshments hut serving ice cream and cream teas, a gift shop with pocket-money toys and souvenirs, toilet facilities with baby changing, and nearby free parking.

Day tickets cost £8.50 Adult, £7.50 Child (3–16), £8.00 Senior, £7.50 Accessible, with a Family Ticket (2 adults & up to 2 children) at £30.00. Season Passes are £25 Adult, £20 Child, £60 (2 adults & 1 child) and £75 (2 adults & 2 children).

Tucked away in the beautiful gardens of the Old Vicarage, our Model Village is a true hidden gem - two acres of lovingly landscaped grounds filled with nostalgia, creativity, and quintessential English character.
Wander through delightful scale models of Shanklin and Godshill as they looked in the 1920s, complete with cottages, pubs, and churches faithfully recreated at 1/10th scale. Don’t forget to spot our garden railway - a captivating snapshot of the Island Line from days gone by!
Our wonderful gardens & trees are hidden behind the high stonewall of the original Old Vicarage providing the perfect feeling of seclusion and peace from the modern day world. We don’t have a typical visitor – we entice a huge variety of folk to see our models and garden.
We have dual appeal! On one hand we are a fantastic model village replete with Island life perfectly recreated in miniature, and on the other we offer a stunning collection of conifers and trees.
Our conifer and shrub collection now totals over 3000 specimens, many of which have been carefully pruned using the niwaki (Japanese term for highly sculpted trees) approach.

Facilities

Parking: Godshill has a free council run car park opposite the Griffin Pub. If you do park in the Old Smithy Car Park please ensure you check the locking up time on the gate and do make sure you pop in to their lovely shops too!
Food & Drinks: On fine days we open our refreshments hut inside the Model Village. You have to be a Model Village customer to enjoy our special setting! Please be aware, as all our seating is outdoors, we only open when the weather is being kind. Join us for an ice cream, hot cuppa, tea cake or maybe a cream tea.
Gift Shop: For the smaller folk we have great pocket money priced toys, party bag ideas or bits to keep them busy on a rainy day in the caravan. Stuff that won’t break the bank plus little gifts for their buddies at home! For the grown ups we have a great range of nautical gifts and unusual bits you think you’ll plan to buy for a friend and will end up keeping!

By Car: The Model Village is situated on the High Street in Godshill. This is the A3020 Newport to Shanklin road. We are the big white house on the corner of the High Street. Pop you car in the free car park council run car park opposite the Griffin Pub, just down the road from us. You will need to walk to find us on the corner of the High Street. See further information in our parking pages. For Sat Nav the postcode is PO38 3HZ for parking.
By Bus: We are on bus routes 2 & 3 so you can take a leisurely journey on a Southern Vectis bus from Newport, Shanklin or Ryde.
By Bike: Follow the Cycle track from Cowes, Newport, Shanklin or Sandown and turn off to Godshill! You will also find us if you hop off the Bicycle Island Red Squirrel Trail.
