Loch Insh Outdoor Centre, set in the Cairngorm Mountains by the River Spey, is a family-run destination offering activities, accommodation, and dining in a beautiful lochside setting. It’s a place where families, groups, and individuals can enjoy both land and water adventures while surrounded by stunning scenery.

On land, visitors can try archery, bike hire, glice skating, tubing, skiing, and snowboarding. On the water, activities include kayaking, canoeing, pedalos, paddleboarding, windsurfing, and the exciting Jungle Float waterpark with slides, trampolines, and a high dive platform. With expert instructors, it’s suitable for beginners and thrill-seekers alike.

Prices start from £10 for glice skating, £15 for tubing, and £20 for kayaking, with packages available for groups. Party options include tubing parties from £19 per person and Jungle Float parties from £27 per person, complete with fun activities and food.

Features

On Land

  • Archery: Target Archery results in a great sense of achievement and is fun for the whole family to enjoy. Our expert instructors are on hand to ensure that whether you are an experienced archer or it’s your first time picking up a bow, everybody has a great time.
  • Bike Hire: We are delighted to now be able to offer bike hire available at Loch Insh Outdoor Centre. We have a large car park for you to head straight out onto the trails from the site
  • Glice Skating: Get your skates on! Our Glice rink is back and available from October through until April. Ice Skating at Loch Insh is the perfect winter activity for all the family.
  • Tubing: Unbridled fun for kids, simply slide down our new ski slope in a big rubber tube! Under 18s only.
  • Open ski: Our open sessions are only for competent skiiers. If you would like some help getting started then book into one of our lessons instead.
  • Snowboarding: Our open sessions are only for competent snowboarders. If you would like some help getting started then book into one of our lessons instead.

On Water

  • Pedalo: Hire available daily from 10 am – 5 pm, April – October. Our popular pedalos are the simplest way to enjoy an hour on the Loch. Enjoy our super stable and easy-to-use pedalos, effortless in most conditions and you can fit 6 onboard, 2 people peddling, and up to 4 passengers. 
  • Kayaking: Our modern, sit-on-top kayaks give you the comfort and safety you expect ensuring maximum fun out on the Loch. It’s a great option for anyone wanting to explore the Loch, you won’t need to wear a wetsuit, though you’re welcome to hire one.
  • Canoeing: Canoes allow you to enjoy getting out on the water in comfort and stay completely dry whilst doing so. Our 2-man canoes are best enjoyed in pairs. They are a great way to experience the diverse ecosystems around Loch Insh. 
  • Jungle Float: We are excited to introduce our Jungle Float, a floating waterpark with slide, high dive platform, and trampolines to jump from, a must do attraction for the adrenaline hunters amongst you. Only available as a 90 minute session with our instructors and available throughout the day, everyday. 
  • SUP: Paddle-boarding is one of the most accessible sports there is. We have a large setup of O’shea inflatable boards perfect for learning and exploring our Loch. Our fleet consists of both adult and child single boards, buoyancy aids are included.
  • Windsurf: Loch Insh is blessed with a clean wind whistling down the valley which, when complimented by the one-mile length of the Loch Insh, creates the perfect location for windsurfing. This dynamic sport has much to offer as well as being the perfect introduction to the board balance required for surfing, and the wind awareness required for kite surfing.

Birthday Party Details

  • Tubing Party: Only £19.00 per person. Arrive at midday, head straight to the ski hire where we issue helmets before getting you out on the slope. After a quick safety brief, we head up the dry slope for a 45-minute blast on the tubes. Riding the wave at the bottom of the slope offers just the right amount of fear versus fun to keep the kids non-stop running up the slope for more.
  • Jungle Float Wains: Only £27.00 per person. Starting at 11:00, we gear you up at the beach, ready for the Jungle Float. After some safety information, we head out and set you off with lifeguards for an hour. Once you come back in and warm up, it's time to head up to the restaurant for some Lunch at around 13:00.
