Features

On Land

  • Archery: We have a mobile archery range which allows us to set up on large fields or suitable parks. We use modern re-curve wooden bows in a variety of sizes to suit the budding archer’s needs. We have qualified instructors who will work with you on achieving that perfect score. We use a wide range of venues around Moray.
  • Bushcraft: Using skills that are fast disappearing in the modern world, participants will gather materials to build a fire and then learn how light it, using traditional fire lighting materials before cooking snacks over the open camp fire. They will also learn how to build a shelter and about our impact on the environment we live in.
  • Crate Climbing: Imagine a giant Jenga with crates and ropes and you have crate climbing. Great fun to be had, with participants challenging themselves to build a tower of crates as high as possible before it collapses and they are left swinging safely from a rope.
  • Hill Walking: Hill walking in Scotland is world famous with stunning remote isolated wilderness teeming with wildlife and history. We have experienced and qualified Mountain Leaders, able to tailor your trip to meet your own personal aims and able to teach you the basic skills to keep yourself safe in the Scottish hills. We also have all the equipment you will need.
  • Rock Climbing: Rock climbing is an enjoyable experience even for those who are a little afraid of heights. Our qualified instructors will make your experience safe and enjoyable and can give you the skills you need to continue climbing on your own. We supply you with all technical equipment needed.
  • Shore Walk and Cave Explore: This coastal exploration of our dunes, caves, and Picts’ history is an exciting opportunity to get up close to part of the coast between Covesea and Hopeman: climb 250-million-year sand dunes and learn about the animals that inhabited, them before exploring caves cut into the rocks by changing sea-level, including Sculptor’s Cave with its important Pictish carvings.
  • Tyrolean: Tyrolean traverses were first used in the Mountains of the Tyrol Region of Austria to make inaccessible areas more accessible. We have a number of venues across Moray that we use for this activity which challenges teamwork, rope skills and bravery.
  • Weaselling: Unlike pot-holing, weaselling is an above ground activity where participants crawl through spaces between rocks, exploring tunnels and squeezing through gaps. It’s dark and mysterious, but very exciting, discovering places that not many people get to explore. We provide water proofs, helmet, boots and, if you’re a little bit scared of the dark, we might even give you a head torch.

On Water

  • Canoeing: We have years of canoeing experience, whether it be gliding across a calm loch or enjoying the white water of the UK’s fastest river, the Spey. We choose from a wide range of locations to make sure we get it right for you. Even though canoeing is seen as a dry sport, if you fancy testing your skills, we can supply you with a wet suit just in case.
  • Coasteering: This is an amazing activity involving exploring the “tidal impact zone”, where land meets sea. We use the rocky coves near the historic fishing village of Portknockie for most of our coasteering sessions. We use full length, 5mm, winter wetsuits, boots and gloves to keep you toasty warm and our expert instructors will keep you informed and entertained.
  • Duckies: Duckies are small inflatable canoes that can hold up to 3 people, making them ideal for family adventures with young people, or friends looking for a fantastic bonding experience.  We will supply all the technical equipment you will need, including wetsuits.
  • Gorge Walking: Gorge walking takes you well off the beaten track, through an exhilarating landscape of waterfalls, plunge pools and fast-moving water, carved at the bottom of the ravine. Our instructors will help you negotiate the gorge, with waterfalls to be climbed, slides to be descended, jumps to be jumped and pools to be swum.
  • Kayaking: Whether you are on a loch or bobbing down a rapid on a river, Outfit Moray has everything you need to have a day to remember. More manoeuvrable than canoes, kayaks are great for negotiating a rapid or for learning skills and playing games on lochs. We can teach beginners the basics or improve the skills of more advanced paddlers.
  • Paddleboarding: Stand up paddle boarding (SUP) is an offshoot of surfing that originated in Hawaii. Unlike traditional surfing where the rider sits until a wave comes, stand up paddle boarders stand on their boards and use a paddle to propel themselves through the water.
  • Rafting: Rafting is an exhilarting activity which makes a great team or family day out.  With 9 and 2 people rafts, we can deliver a fantastic learning and team bonding experience that you will remember for years to come and will provide all the equipment you need, including wetsuits.

On Wheels

  • Mountain Biking: Using a variety of venues, we cater for all group and family needs, from the wide rolling trails of Culbin Forest to the Speyside Way to whizzing down the single tracks of the Moray Monster Trails in Fochabers. We provide all the equipment needed for a safe and exciting days riding including bike, helmet, gloves and repair kits.
  • Trail cycling: Mountain biking doesn’t have to be all jumps and tricks! We offer cross-country mountain biking experiences to ensure that it is an activity accessible to all. We provide all the equipment needed for a safe and exciting days riding including bike, helmet, gloves and repair kits.
  • Road cycling: Keen to explore the cycle lanes of Moray? Pop into Bike Revolution and we can help plan your next journey or offer suggested routes for your daily commute. We also offer a series of guided rides throughout the year.
  • Bikeability: Bikeability is today’s cyling proficiency. It’s about gaining practical skills and understanding how to cycle on today’s roads. Bikeability gives everyone the skills and confidence for all kinds of cycling. Outfit Moray are the Bikeability Scotland co-ordinators for Moray on behalf of the Moray Council.
