  • What’s Inside
    • The Butterfly House is a tropical haven where visitors can see Blue Morphos, Owl Butterflies, Monarchs, and, depending on the season, Atlas Moths and Glass Wings. Free-roaming Zebra Finches, Java Sparrows, Roul Roul Partridges, and Terrapins add even more life to the experience.
    • The lively Bird House is home to Chico, Charlie, and Dell, whose chatter fills the air, and if you are lucky, Elvis the parrot may sing “Happy Birthday.” Keep an eye out for the free-flying kookaburras that often surprise guests.
    • In Lizard Land, visitors can discover lizards from around the world, some well camouflaged and others large and easy to spot.
    • The Meerkat Tunnel is a favourite stop where families can watch the playful meerkats, especially during feeding time as they snack on mealworms and crickets. Nearby, the lively harvest mice, zebra mice, and tenrecs also capture attention.
    • The Bug Zone houses an impressive collection of invertebrates including cockroaches, stick insects, beetles, and giant snails. At weekends and during school holidays, visitors can get up close with some of these creatures check the activity board at the entrance for times.
    • The Tropical House, new for 2023, brings together a fascinating range of exotic snakes, lizards, amphibians, and arachnids. Some prefer to hide, so spotting them requires a sharp eye.
    • At Pets Corner, families can meet and cuddle friendly rabbits and guinea pigs.
    • In the Farm Yard and Barn, visitors can meet adorable Kune Kune pigs, cheeky goats, playful Miniature Donkeys DJ and Barney, and the Giant Continental Rabbits. On dry days some animals may be found out in the fields or in the walk-through areas.
    • The Indoor Soft Play area is perfect for children to burn off energy and is included in the entry fee. There is a dedicated Baby and Toddler Area for children aged 0–3 with adult access, and a Main Play Area for older children who can play independently (maximum height 1.40 m). Socks must be worn on all equipment, and the café kitchen closes at 4:30 pm.
  • What’s Outside
    • The Jungle Towers, introduced in 2021, offers hours of outdoor fun with climbing frames, slides, rope bridges, balance beams, and a double zip wire.
    • The Nature Trail is a gentle walk featuring a wildlife pond and a bird-watching hide, ideal for nature lovers.
    • Visitors can enjoy the Farm Yard and Walkthrough, where pygmy goats, chickens, and ducks roam freely for an interactive experience. In poor weather, the goats are moved indoors for their comfort.
    • The outdoor Play Barn is suitable for all ages, though supervision is advised.
    • A large Park Area offers an obstacle course and a zip wire, with plenty of picnic benches for sunny days and an indoor area for shelter during rain.
    • Children will love the coin-operated Tractor Rides, which add a little extra excitement to the visit.
  • Indoor Play Zone Offer: The Playzone Only offer is available during quieter periods on weekdays in term time only, from 6 January to 14 February, 10 October to 19 October, and throughout November. This offer is not valid on weekends or during school holidays.
  • Daily Animal Encounters: Animal Encounters run during weekends and school holidays, usually between 11 am and 4 pm. They include meeting friendly snakes such as Royal or Spotted Pythons, learning about lizards like Leopard Geckos, African Fat-Tailed Geckos, or Blue-Tongued Skinks, getting up close with hissing cockroaches, giant African land snails, stick insects, millipedes, or cuddling rabbits and guinea pigs.
  • Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. For the wellbeing of the animals, each has a limited handling period each day, and schedules or locations may change at short notice.

Birthday Party Details

  • Birthday Parties: Pili Palas offers three exciting birthday party packages to suit different preferences. All parties include food options, free entry for the birthday child’s parents and one adult per invited child, and require confirmation of the number of children and food choices 48 hours before the event. Children under 12 months are free, while those aged 12 months to 15 years are charged at the party rate.
  • Option 1 Tropical Party (£13.95 per child): Available on weekends only (excluding school holidays), the Tropical Party runs from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm or 1:30 pm to 4:00 pm and lasts approximately two and a half hours. The celebration begins in the Soft Play area while guests arrive, followed by a journey through the Tropical House to discover exotic butterflies and birds.
  • Option 2Play Zone Party (£11.95 per child): The Play Zone Party is available on weekdays during term time (Monday to Friday, excluding school holidays) from 3:45 pm to 5:30 pm and lasts one hour and 45 minutes. Children enjoy playtime in the Play Zone and Play Barn before gathering for food in the café. Parties can be booked for 10–20 children. Please note that the Play Zone will remain open to the public during this type of party.
  • Option 3 Exclusive Play Zone Party (£350): This premium option is available on weekdays during term time (Monday to Friday, excluding school holidays) from 3:45 pm to 5:30 pm and provides exclusive use of the Play Zone and Play Barn. The package includes up to 25 children (aged 1–15 years) and up to 25 adults, with additional children charged at £9.95 each. 
  • Food Options: All party packages include a choice of hot or cold menu, plus drinks and dessert.
    • Hot Menu: Choose from chicken nuggets, sausages, or cheese and tomato pizza, each served with chips, a choice of orange squash, blackcurrant, or water, and vanilla ice cream for dessert.
    • Cold Menu: A Pili Palas picnic box with a choice of tuna, ham, or cheese sandwich, mixed raisins, crisps, a gingerbread biscuit, a choice of orange squash, blackcurrant, or water, and vanilla ice cream for dessert.
    • Sandwiches are served on white bread with butter as standard. Brown bread or no butter can be requested when confirming party details 48 hours in advance.

  • From Queensferry and Conwy: Follow A55 over Britannia Bridge on to Anglesey. (Our brown signs will guide you from there but if not) Take the second exit after you have crossed the bridge sign posted Amlwch and Benllech. Turn right at the top of the slip road. Follow the road for 1/2 a mile then turn left at the roundabout and we are 200 yards down on the left.
  • From Holyhead: Follow A5 towards Bangor as you get near to the Britannia Bridge take the exit sign posted Menai Bridge. Turn left at the top of the slip road. Follow the road for 1/2 mile then turn left at the roundabout. We are 200 yards down on the left.
  • From Caernarfon: Follow the signs for A5 Holyhead once you have crossed the Britannia bridge on to Anglesey take the exit sign posted Benllech and Amlwch. Turn right at the top of the slip road. Follow the road for 1/2 mile then turn left at the roundabout. We are 200 yards down on the left.
  • There is no direct public transport to Pili Palas. The nearest bus stop is at Four Crosses, Menai Bridge, which is about ¼ of a mile walk. There is no pavement on this road so we would consider it unsuitable for wheel chairs or families with young children.
  • The bus numbers that you will need to Four Crosses from the following areas are:
    • Bangor - Bus number 62
    • Caernarfon - Bus number 5 to Bangor then 62 to Four Crosses
    • Holyhead - Bus number 4 to Menai Bridge and then 62 to Four Crosses
