Description

Porfell Wildlife Park is a sanctuary in the UK that offers a safe, lifelong home for over 100 animals, many of which were neglected, injured, or abandoned. The park focuses on creating natural habitats that mirror the animals’ environments, providing a unique and compassionate alternative to traditional zoos. Visitors are encouraged to explore, discover, and connect with nature while supporting conservation and animal welfare.

The park’s highlights include meeting four species of lemurs, exploring an authentic Maasai village built with traditional methods, and getting close to animals like meerkats, capybaras, and serval cats. Guests can also enjoy bird displays, including seeing Owl Kenza fly or meeting her during rainy days. Every enclosure is designed for a special viewing experience.

Ticket prices are £12.50 for adults, £9.50 for children aged 3–15, £10.50 for seniors, £41.00 for a family (2 adults + 2 children), and free entry for children under 3.

Visiting Porfell Wildlife Park is not just a day out but a chance to support a mission of compassion and conservation. With its blend of engaging activities, educational experiences, and a deep respect for animals, it offers something meaningful for all ages. It’s an ideal spot for families, nature lovers, and anyone looking to connect with wildlife in a responsible, caring environment.

Features

  • Meet the primates: Like all the other animals here, whatever their age or condition, they have a home for life here at Porfell. Here we currently house four species of Lemurs: black and white ruffed lemurs, black lemurs, ring-tailed lemurs and brown lemurs.
  • Maasai village: Explore our authentic African Plains village and see how humans and animals coexist in the wilds of The Great Rift Valley. It was conceived and developed to reflect how the Maasai people respect the land around them, and how they benefited from it. It’s not ‘themed’ – it’s rough around the edges like real Maasai villages are. The huts were originally built using traditional methods and materials: cow dung, mud and wicker for the walls and roofs. Inside each hut are displays of Maasai craft, clothing and history.
  • Close Contacts: In close contacts, you will be able to see some of our meerkats, capybara, kinkajou, racoon dogs, cloud rats, red squirrels, Palma wallabies, wallabies and emu, serval cats and savannah cats. All our enclosures have been uniquely designed for you to spot them.
  • Owls and Birds: You will be able to see our Owl Kenza fly on certain days at the park. If it is raining we will do a meet and greet with Kenza in the jungle barn.

Facilities

Toilets: Accessible toilets are available, including a baby changing place in each toliet.
