Warminster Saddle Club, established in the 1970s and approved by the British Horse Society, has been one of the leading riding schools in Wiltshire for over 30 years. Situated at the foothills of Salisbury Plain in Warminster, the club offers horse riding lessons to both military personnel and civilians of all ages. Founded by Robert Sullivan-Tailyor with just one pony, “Goose”, the club has grown into a thriving centre that provides a wide range of services, including a riding school, livery yard, RDA centre, competition facilities and military equestrian courses. Lessons are delivered by qualified instructors and tailored to suit everyone from complete beginners to advanced riders, ensuring steady progress in both skill and confidence. The livery yard provides excellent care and accommodation with DIY, Assisted DIY and Working Livery options, while the Infantry Saddle Club. Facilities include a 20m x 40m indoor arena with viewing area and a 30m x 60m outdoor arena with a full set of Jump for Joy jumps available for hire.
The club runs regular events such as Dressage and Show Jumping Leagues, clinics and clear round days, welcoming both service personnel and the wider community. Riding lessons are available at competitive rates with group lessons priced at £31.50 for adults and £26.25 for juniors in Category 1, £38.85 for adults and £30.45 for juniors in Category 2, while private 45-minute sessions are £48.30 for Category 1 and £57.75 for Category 2.
