Description
Located in Bromley, Kent, Breaside Preparatory School provides a rich learning environment for your son or daughter. Our curriculum will prepare your children for the senior schools of choice through a balanced and broadly based education, from their first days in the Kindergarten through to the age of 11. We believe in getting the basics right and teaching the core subjects with a mixture of traditional teaching styles with the more modern approaches to learning. Coupled together with a strong work ethic and an enriching learning environment, we are confident that we help each child to develop towards their full potential.
Facilities
Early Years
The Kindergarten children can attend a minimum of three full day sessions per week and they would expect Pre-Prep and Reception children to attend full time. The school is open 38 weeks per year, (term time only with an option to pay extra for holiday club provision) and our school day begins at 8:10am and finishes at 3:10pm for all Early Years children. All children aged 2-5 receive a portion of fresh cow’s milk each day at snack time under the Cool Milk scheme, as well as a healthy snack and lunch.
Independent Prep School in Kent
Breaside provides a rich learning environment for boys and girls. The curriculum is designed to meet our objective of preparing children for senior schools. In addition, we attach great importance to providing all children with a balanced and broadly based education, from their first days in the Kindergarten through to the age of 11.
The Junior School
In Years 3 and 4, form tutors continue to be responsible for teaching English, Maths & PSHE, although the children now receive specialist teaching in ICT, Science, History, Geography & Religious Education as well. These two years see a consolidation of the Key Stage 1 work as the children begin to prepare for their 11+ entrance tests and Key Stage 2 SATs. In Years 5 and 6, Breaside’s unique preparation for entrance exams to over 20 different Secondary School is key.
