Nursery and Pre-Prep
Abberley Hall’s Nursery and Pre-Prep is located in the converted stables within the school’s extensive grounds. They teach children from the age of 2 to 7 years and make the most of our beautiful outdoor environment and extensive Prep School facilities.Children are given a host of opportunities to get involved in a range of activities both inside and outside the classroom. From an early age children at Abberley Hall are taught Music, Drama, French, P.E, ICT, Forest School and Swimming by specialist subject teachers.In the grounds, they help to nurture independent and confident children. They aim to create a secure academic foundation so children move through to the Prep school with confidence and to create a joy of learning within the happy and friendly school.
Prep
The average class size is 12-13 pupils, with a maximum of 16. Most pupils work in their relevant age group and the placement of children into forms is usually done early in the Summer term and can be adjusted as we learn more about individual needs. They constantly review the curriculum and the way they deliver it and are open to new ideas, ready to encourage change that will bring extra educational benefit to the children here.At Abberley Hall School they strive to give the pupils the broadest possible curriculum that balances traditional academic rigour with modern, relevant and fun subjects. At Abberley they believe that our children should leave with broad horizons and we equip them with the foundation and skills with which to engage confidently and positively with these.

Clubs and Extras
They provide a wide range of clubs and extra-curricular opportunities for the Pre-Prep children.
After School Care
After School Care is available for children over 3 years and runs from 3.45pm to 6.00pm Monday to Friday. Children can choose from a variety of play activities, indoors and outdoors, and they aim to provide a homely atmosphere distinguishing it from the school day. Children staying after 4.45pm will have tea, after which they are assisted with any homework and enjoy some quiet time.
Forest School
Forest Schools are an innovative approach to learning and they are lucky that the beautiful grounds feature a fully-equipped Forest School run by a qualified Pre-Prep Forest School leader.Reception, Class 1 and Class 2 have their own Forest School session every week throughout the school year. This hands-on approach to learning takes the children out of the classroom to work and play. Where appropriate, lessons are linked to the topics being taught in the classroom. They love the woodland grounds and thanks to Forest School the children do too.
