Description

Beecroft Primary School is a State Primary school for kids aged 3 to 11 (Gender - Mixed )

Beecroft is a really special place because there is a real partnership between teachers, pupils and parents. By working together they can help your child reach his/her full potential. They also believe that parents look for a school where there is a positive and caring school ethos and impeccable behaviour that allows all children to flourish.Creativity is an important part of the curriculum at Beecroft Primary School. They believe subjects like design and technology, music, art and drama are vitally important for children to develop imagination, resourcefulness, problem solving and team-working. To this end they have a purpose built and fully equipped design technology and art room. They are very proud that all children learn to play a musical instrument. They have a broad curriculum which enhances and underpins our high outcomes in reading, writing and mathematics.

Facilities

Curriculum
Children are taught all subjects in the National Curriculum, providing a basis for a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum. The non-core subjects are blocked each half term to ensure continuity and a thorough grasp and understanding of the vital basic skills. Reading is a high profile activity throughout all years in the school and a Home-School Reading Policy is in operation.

Special Educational Needs And Inclusion
At Beecroft Primary School they are committed to giving all the children every opportunity to achieve the highest of standards. The school aims to be an inclusive school. This means that equality of opportunity must be a reality for our pupils. They make this a reality through the attention they pay to the different groups of children within our school:girls and boys; minority ethnic and faith groups; children who need support to learn English as an additional language; pupils who require intervention strategies; children with special educational needs; children with disabilities; gifted and talented children; children in families who are under stress; pupils in public care.

Features

Things to note

Educational Visits And Visitors
At Beecroft they try to arrange a variety of educational visits and visitors into the school, to broaden experiences and to stimulate interest. We usually invite parents to make a voluntary contribution towards any cost. No child would be excluded from a school outing through an inability to contribute, however, plans may have to be cancelled if insufficient funding is available. Residential visits of 2 days are organised for Year 5 to Nell Bank and Year 6 to Castleton in Derbyshire. All pupils can participate.

School Clubs
Beecroft Primary School is very proud that members of staff give freely of their time to run clubs outside school lessons. These vary from time to time depending on the specialist areas and interests of individual staff. They operate at lunchtimes and after school
