Leaders have a clear rationale for our curriculum design which is based on full coverage of the National Curriculum. It is designed to ensure that a pupil's learning is carefully sequenced; building on prior knowledge and skills; preparing them for success. The aim is to provide a curriculum offer where pupils thrive; encouraging pupils to become independent, solution seeking and resilient learners who acquire the skills and knowledge that prepares them for the next stage of their education. The Curriculum continues to evolve to reflect the needs and interests of our learners. Careful consideration is given to the sequence of our curriculum. It is important that the pupils develop the knowledge and skills that enable them to make links within subjects and in other subjects across the curriculum. They believe that in reviewing our curriculum, they are able to tailor learning experiences to ensure that they are meaningful, relevant and purposeful for Blakehill children.

Extra Curricular Clubs
At Blakehill, they are very proud of the wide and varied opportunities the children have to participate in extra-curricular activities. Staff work hard to ensure all pupils have equal access to new, healthy and interesting activities which are available to a range of skills, abilities and ages. the offer: a range of sports, drama, gardening, music tuition, mindfulness, choir, information technology and art.
Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND)
Every child is of equal importance and unique in their own way. All teachers at Blakehill Primary School are teachers of SEND who successfully provide for the diverse needs of pupils through good differentiated teaching. Children may require ‘additional ‘ or ‘different’ provision and the quality of their provision is relevant and matched to their individual needs. Blakehill are proud to have designated and experienced SEN support staff who offer specialised SEN support to children in both key stages.
