Bramhope Primary School is a State Primary school for kids aged 4 to 11 (Gender - Mixed )

Bramhope Primary is an exceptional, oversubscribed school with a reputation for providing an all-round education. They currently have approximately 340 pupils on roll and are permanently increasing the number of Reception places to 60, from September 2022. This will gradually increase the overall capacity of the school to 420 pupils. They have a waiting list for most year groups but do have school places available from time to time.  Bramhope is a friendly, welcoming school and they want the children to feel that they belong here. They pride ourselves on how well the staff know each child as an individual and the pastoral support they offer children and their families in times of need. When they start school, each child is placed in one of four Houses and this identity is strengthened through House competitions, House trophies and the school song.

CURRICULUM: LEARNING IN SCHOOL & HOME
The reputation for academic excellence is reflected in our end of key stage SATs results and regular, low-stakes testing from Year 1.  However, the school is known for much more than the academic results; they place emphasis on the importance of reading and the core subjects of English and Maths, but are committed to providing children with a broad curriculum which encompasses specialist teaching and is led by teachers who are passionate about their subjects areas Teachers as subject leaders.  Outside of the school day children are encouraged to widen their learning by joining a range of extra-curricular clubs and activities.They encourage the children to understand the connection between their learning behaviour and their accomplishments.  The rewards system prioritises the effort that children have made.  They encourage the children to challenge themselves to work hard and be their best.

EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
Here at Bramhope they believe in a rich and varied curriculum with opportunities for all of our children.  If you have any enquiries about any of the clubs or activities listed - either getting started or on-going please contact the admin team. The specialist sports providers – Sporting Influence run various after-school sports clubs at school which change termly as well as teaching lessons in school time.There’s something for everyone who enjoys music – our choir, junior band, peripatetic lessons and performances both at school and externally keep the children enthused as they benefit from the specialist music teaching in lessons.  Recently alongside our Specialist Music Teacher Mrs Thomson-Smith they have taken part in Opera North’s WW1 commemoration big sing-along at Leeds Town Hall,  a Young Voices Performance at Sheffield Arena alongside other Primary Schools.  They also perform in regular concerts and music plays a big part in our school performances at school.
