To enable this, we ensure our whole school curriculum is rich and rigorous. They begin with a sense of belonging, fostered by strong relationships which are the bedrock of our teaching and learning. They invest time in building meaningful and positive relationships with one another. They are ambitious for every person in the school and are clear about our high expectations for everyone. They provide strong and coherent learning opportunities alongside carefully planned additional experiences to enable children to discover new talents, skills and interests. Underpinning this is the belief that every child has the potential to achieve and excel. They aim to provide a knowledge-rich and broad curriculum for our children. Each subject is taught discretely to allow children to build on previous knowledge and skills and to enable links to be made as their learning progresses. They place great emphasis on subject specific vocabulary as they believe this allows children to communicate confidently and effectively as well as providing the foundations for their future.

Special Educational Needs
Ditton Lodge Primary School is a mainstream school. At Ditton Lodge they value all children equally and provide access to a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum for all pupils. They ensure that all needs of pupils with Special Educational Needs are met to the best of the School’s ability within the funds available. They deliver programmes designed to meet the pupil’s needs with trained teaching assistants. Different pupils will require different levels of support in order to bridge the gap to achieve age expected levels. Each pupils needs may vary every year and a pupil may be moved off the SENDD register when they have made sufficient progress to be in line with the achievement of their peers/or their disability/health requirements are within those of universal needs.
