Ecole Jeannine Manuel is Independent Secondary school in Not applicable for kids aged 3 to 18 (Gender - 3 to 18 )
Jeannine Manuel founded the Ecole Active Bilingue in 1954 with the mission to develop international understanding through bilingual education starting in the nursery years. Her premise was that “learning a foreign language is, by itself, important; it is also a means to better understand others, to be able to think like them—it provides access to the world.”In France, since its founding, sixty five years ago, École Jeannine Manuel has become the largest non-denominational independent school in France, with 3,250 students in Paris and Lille representing over eighty nationalities.
Academic
École Jeannine Manuel anchors its teaching methods on the natural creativity of children, their appetite for learning and their boundless curiosity. A team of educators, specialising in reading, writing, mathematics and science assist and coordinate our teachers and contribute to the on-going process of curriculum and professional development, both in and out of the classroom. All areas of learning share the same goals: develop a base of solid skills and a capacity for independent critical thinking, nurture curiosity and promote self-confidence. To pursue these goals, the pedagogical drivers are similarly common to all disciplines: action (to do) and accomplishment (understanding that one can succeed). In terms of curriculum content, École Jeannine Manuel follows the French national curriculum with the exception of the English, Science and Chinese programmes developed by and for the School.
Extracurriculars for primary school
The School offers many extra-curricular activities within the Afterschool program (Monday to Friday) and the Sports Association (Wednesday). The Afterschool program is for students from MS to CM2 and offers activities such as chess, theatre, yoga, dance, painting, writing and reflection workshops (heroes, history, journalism), cooking, multi-sports, digital art, coding, robotics
Beyond the classroom
They believe that learning goes beyond the classroom. The school offers many extracurricular activities for both primary and secondary school students. The afterschool program caters to our younger students, while our Sports & Cultural Association helps our older students pursue their passions outside of class.
