Evergreen is Independent Secondary school in Not applicable for kids aged 7 to 16 (Gender - 7 to 16 )
Evergreen School formed on 1st September 2020 after the amalgamation of Ridgeway School and Round Oak School. They are an all age school (4-19) for children and young people with Special Educational Needs. They have two sites in Warwick. Site 1 is on Deansway, in the Woodloes estate, and Site 2 is on Brittain Lane, just off Myton Road. Although the sites aren’t strictly age split, the majority of the younger pupils are based at Site 1 and the majority of our older pupils are based at Site 2.Evergreen School serves children and young people across Central Warwickshire including Warwick, Leamington Spa, Kenilworth and surrounding areas. Children, young people and their families lie at the heart of everything they do. They truly believe that in order for the pupils to learn and thrive, they need to feel happy and safe. They understand that the children and young people progress at their own rate, so have designed our curriculum to ensure that each individual is able to flourish.
Evergreen Curriculum
The curriculum is highly personalised and adaptable, so that Teachers can deliver the best possible education for each and every child and young person. They work by understanding what education and learning means for each pupil; the overall focus from day one is on developing independence and working towards the contribution they can make in their adult years to the community around them.Learning for pupils will be a mix of personalised learning relating to the Education, Health and Care plan (EHCP) with wider learning drawn from the Evergreen Curriculum. This consists of 6 areas: My Language and Literacy, My Physical Skills, My Thinking, My Skills for Life, My Social and Emotional Well-being and Understanding My World
Forest School
Evergreen school are lucky enough to have not one, but two Forest School settings, one at each school site! Pupils access the Forest School areas throughout the week, spending time outdoors to explore, build and play. Pupils have opportunities to learn about the world around them and the animals and plants that live alongside us. They are encouraged to build confidence through pupil-led learning, taking the lead in their Forest School sessions after different activities planned by Evergreen’s Forest School Leaders. As pupils progress through the years at Evergreen School, there will be opportunities for tool use, fire lighting, outdoor cooking, and shelter building, developing transferrable skills for life!
