Warwick School is a leading independent day and boarding school for boys aged 7-18.

Facilities

  • Warwick Independent Schools Foundation operates a number of bus services, from a wide catchment area, exclusively for pupils within the Foundation Schools.
  • The Library is situated on the first floor of the Masefield Centre and plays a central role in the life of the School.
  • The Warwick School Sports Centre have outstanding facilities that are great for sporting activities or competitions. These include a 25-metre swimming pool, a state-of-the-art fitness suite, two squash courts, sports hall and a hospitality suite with stunning views of the grounds.
  • With a completely refurbished science laboratory, a spacious design and technology room, a separate art teaching studio, a dedicated library and two modern IT suites, the Junior School is very well equipped.
  • Junior pupils also access the music department where the Junior School has its own teaching room. The school benefits from the shared sporting facilities: sports centre, astro-turf pitches and swimming pool.
  • Drama productions are hosted in the Bridge House Theatre with Warwick Hall the venue for whole school music concerts and Speech Day.

Things to note

  • They have nearly 60 clubs and societies so believe there really is something for everyone. Clubs range from football to kung fu, cookery to buggy building.
  • Drama productions are a highlight of life in the Junior School, where all year groups enjoy performing small sketches and plays as part of the curriculum. There are two main productions in the school year.
  • The Junior Music Department is a very busy, lively and rewarding part of Junior School life. The boys have a weekly class music lesson, experiencing music topics such as Indian Music, African Drumming, Reggae, Rap, Classical Music and Jazz, through composition, performance and listening. 
  • Since 2008 Warwick Junior School boys have secured six national sporting titles in rugby, golf and swimming. The major team sports of rugby, football and cricket are taught with teams organised for inter-school, inter-house and inter-class matches. Swimming, golf, tennis and athletics also provide the boys with the occasion to learn and compete in competitive matches. All sports have after-school practices where the boys benefit from specialist coaching.

Admission Details

JUNIOR SCHOOLThey welcome boys to Warwick Junior School between the age of 7 and 11.

SENIOR SCHOOL ADMISSIONS Within the Senior School, the vast majority of boys join in Year 7 or Year 12 (Lower Sixth). Entrance is at the start of the academic year and only by exception, during the school year. They do in addition have an intake for Year 9.

SIXTH FORM ADMISSIONS: Boys wishing to follow a Sixth Form course at Warwick School must attain a minimum of 51 GCSE points from their best 8 GCSE grades. This figure is the equivalent of the previously stated entry requirements of three grade 7(A) and five grade 6(B).Entry to the Sixth Form is based on the outcome of an interview with the Head of Sixth Form and the Deputy Head Academic, a report from the candidate’s current school (with an indication of predicted grades at GCSE) and meeting the school’s academic requirements for entry to the Sixth Form.Subsequent to the interview, and a satisfactory report, a conditional offer may be made for entry the following September.

Scholarships

Governor Scholarships: Governor Scholarships are awarded  to boys who excel academically. Scholarships tend to be awarded up to the value of 20% of fees, based on the results of the entrance examination and interview. Students registered for the examination at 11+ / 13+ are automatically considered for these scholarships and awards are based on the candidates’ performance in the entrance examination and the interview.

Music Scholarships: 11+, 13+, 16+, musical excellence, application required. Music Scholarships are available to students of exceptional musical and academic ability. Music Scholarships tend to be awarded up to the value of 20% of fees, based on musical ability and potential with a satisfactory level of achievement in the entrance examination. 

Choral Scholarships: Aged 7 - 11, application required. Through the generous benefaction of Mr Percy Swiffen, an external charity, at least two Choral Scholarships, each to the value of £1,800 per annum, may be awarded each year to boys, aged between 7 and 11 years on 1 September, who are either entering or attending Warwick School and the Choir of St. Mary’s Collegiate Church, Warwick.
