Hendon Prep is a leading private prep school in North West London with an ‘Outstanding’ Pre-School, where we understand that every child is unique. We offer a vibrant and creative curriculum for boys and girls from 3 – 11 years old which enables each child to reach their full potential. Prep School
The Preschool environment is friendly, stimulating and nurturing and the curriculum is based around our unique EYFS PLUS model which offers dynamic time-tabled activities for children to choose that includes; Music, French, Tennis and P.E, all delivered by our specialist subject teachers, plus age appropriate daily lessons in numeracy and literacy including pre-reading and pre-writing.
Pre Prep
There is a focus on subject-based learning that includes cross-curricular activities and the children are encouraged to be increasingly independent. Numeracy and literacy skills form the bedrock of our teaching as it is through these areas that the children can then access the broad and wide-ranging curriculum on offer. The children will also study Science, History, Geography, RE, PE and PHSE and they continue to benefit from subject specialist teaching in Art and DT, Music and French and from Year 1 we also introduce Spanish to the curriculum, again taught by a subject specialist.
Prep
Year 3 is the start our of Prep school, when pupils at Hendon Prep transition from the National Curriculum to the more challenging ISEB (Independent Schools Examination Board) curriculum for the core subjects of English, Maths and Science.By starting the ISEB curriculum as early as Year 3, at Hendon Prep we build gradually towards our end goals, preparing our pupils so that they feel confident to meet the challenges of the 11+ process.

Clubs
As part of our commitment to extend and broaden our children’s experience at Hendon Prep we offer a dynamic programme of co-curricular activities. Children are actively encouraged to join these programmes which run both at lunchtime and after school. The clubs and activities are continually evolving and have included such activities as construction club, story-telling and drama, football, drawing, netball, handbells, board games, ICT, Greek, Spanish, chess and library clubs.In addition they also run a homework club and, at appropriate times of the year, clubs focussing on exam prep. Drama and Music also thrive at Hendon Prep where many children take individual instrumental lessons, join the choir or take a LAMDA lunchtime club.
