Pardes House Grammar School is Independent Secondary school in Selective for kids aged 10 to 16 (Gender - 10 to 16 )
Pardes House is an expanding one-form, single-sex, voluntary aided Orthodox Jewish boys’ primary school, with almost 350 pupils. The school is located in Finchley, North West London, in the London Borough of Barnet. The school’s prime catchment is the Jewish communities of north west London and sometimes beyond. The majority of pupils come into the school from the private Nursery on the same site and almost all live in North West London. In providing high quality Jewish and secular education, our goal is to ensure that the pupils are equipped to successfully live a strict Torah-observant life and excel in their lives in the world. The pupils are taught to value truth, honesty, respect for everyone, including the country they live in and its history, a lifelong love of learning and to develop great self-discipline.
Curriculum
As a Local Authority maintained school (voluntary aided), they follow the guidance of the National Curriculum and provide a curriculum that is balanced and broadly based. Long Term Curriculum Maps for all subjects and year groups are available in the school. We ensure that we focus on all children and at both ends of the academic spectrum: for those with Special Educational Needs and those deemed high achievers. All of these are supported by a varying degree of homework, according to the year group. Children are set challenging targets, progress is monitored closely and the need for interventions and/or communication with parents are acted on quickly. Our curriculum is also planned in a way to broaden children’s understanding of many aspects of the planet, its people and societies, particularly those of Great Britain.
Extra-Curricular Clubs
The school offers a number of hugely popular extra-curricular clubs every term, with well over 200 pupils taking part every week. Most of these clubs take place at lunchtimes, while there are some that take place at other breaks and after the end of the school day too. Almost all clubs are generously led by the staff in their own non-contact time and are on offer to pupils in every year group, from Reception through to Year 6.
