Highdown School and Sixth Form Centre is leading State Secondary school in Reading. This is a Non-selective school for kids age 11 to 18 years. Gender - Mixed

Facilities

Home Learning
All home learning will be set via Class Charts for Years 7 to 11 and in Microsoft Teams for Sixth Form students. Students have been given their own user account details which can be accessed online via their mobile, tablet or PC device. Parents/carers also have an account to help them monitor their son or daughter's home learning through Class Charts.

Digital Learning
They live in a digital age. Technology has transformed how they do things, from communication with friends and family to learning about the world around us. The pupils we teach do not know a life without it. The opportunities it offers us to improve education are truly exciting. The question is no longer whether technology should have a place in the classroom, but how technology can most effectively be integrated in ways which achieve improved outcomes for young people.

Sixth Form
The Sixth Form is a lively place to be. Our teachers are passionate about their subjects and this is conveyed through dynamic lessons and academic achievement. Our students receive an exciting and challenging learning experience. As a direct result, our Post-16 results are very good.Whether you're already a Highdowner in Year 11 or a student from another local or international school, you will be assured of personal attention to ensure we match the best curriculum offer to your skills and ambitions. We offer an extensive range of academic and technical (vocational) courses backed by strong academic monitoring and pastoral support

Things to note

Barn
A Grade 2 listed building and once an important agricultural building attached to the Manor House, the Barn is now one of the school's most versatile spaces.  It is used for assemblies and indoor PE lessons, meetings and social functions.  The Barn has easy access to the walled garden.
