Features

Things to note

Outdoor Learning
At Kibworth Primary School they offer children the opportunity to learn in a range of ways. They believe children should understand where their food comes from and how to lead a healthy life. That they should learn a range of life skills. They have an allotment where they grow fruit and vegetables throughout the year. The children have worked to set up the allotment measuring and digging the pathways and beds. Some of our children even helped construct the bench inside the poly tunnel! They drew plans, worked out how much wood they needed and then using woodworking and maths skills constructed the bench. The children take part in planning what they grow, preparing the ground, planting the seeds, planting out, looking after the plants, and harvesting the food.

Special Educational Needs and Difficulties (SEND)
At Kibworth CE Primary school, they are committed to equal opportunities for all of the pupils. They strive to remove barriers to learning to ensure that all children can reach their full potential, whatever their special educational need (sen) or disability. The majority of pupils with SEND in the school are provided for within the class by slight adjustments to work, resources or teaching methods. Whilst they strive to be as inclusive as possible, they recognise that sometimes, to achieve their potential, children need very different strategies, teaching styles or learning provision. The Headteacher, sendco, teachers and support staff work with parents and outside agencies to ensure the best approaches possible are used in order to support children with SEND.
