St Thomas More Catholic Voluntary Academy is more than a school; it is a community. The school mission statement calls us all to “Love one another as I have loved you” and they strive to do this by living out the Gospel Values of respect, honesty and truth in the daily lives. This is evident in all aspects of school life. They have developed an ambitious and well sequenced curriculum and staff have high expectations of all children, in particular those with special educational needs and/or disabilities and the most disadvantaged. They plan regular opportunities to develop children beyond the academic curriculum, providing opportunities to have additional responsibilities in school and experiences to broaden horizons and aspirations.All staff are sharply focused on keeping children safe and children report that they feel safe at school, with trusted adults they can talk to. They are an inclusive school with approachable staff who build positive and respectful working relationships with the families to ensure the best outcomes for all children. They teach children to be respectful of other religions and embed a culture of celebrating differences and diversity.

Curriculum
At Saint Thomas More Catholic Voluntary Academy we recognise children come to school with a range of knowledge and experiences. The aim is to build upon this foundation and provide a meaningful and relevant curriculum to suit the needs of all children.We celebrate our diverse, multicultural community and pride ourselves on the strong Parish links and very supportive parents to provide the children with a wide range of experiences and learning opportunities. Through extensive fundraising and the fantastic support of the Friends association they ensure that the children understand the importance of helping others and trying to live our lives as God’s disciples. At St Thomas More it is crucial that our children are active and inquisitive learners who have the resilience and compassion to become confident members of society
