Features

Things to note

Library
The new Snell Library opened in September 2017 when it moved to the heart of the school on the ground floor. Its spacious, calm and contemporary layout was designed with the expertise of Lancing College Librarian, Serena Marchant. Pupils feel at home in the library and enjoy readily available access to a wide range of fiction and non-fiction. It offers a wealth of study resources for all our pupils. It is well-equipped to teach Information Handling Skills and to promote independent learning for pupils as they move into the senior part of the school.

PE & Sports
PE and Games taught within the curriculum are great strengths of the school. All pupils in the Prep School have a weekly PE lesson taught by Mr Price. The areas covered in PE throughout the school are as follows: Fitness; Basketball; Hockey; Gymnastics and Athletics. There are two double Games lessons in the week and all pupils are given the opportunity to develop and implement a range of important skills and attributes across the ability spectrum. Taught by specialist coaches, the boys play football until November, followed by rugby and cricket in the Summer term. The girls start with hockey before moving to netball in the Spring term and rounders in the Summer term. In addition, girls and boys undertake cross-country and swimming.

Creative Arts
Central to our curriculum beliefs is the idea that all pupils have at least one area in which they can excel and this is reflected in our commitment to the creative arts. The artists express themselves in a wide variety of media and produce particularly memorable work that on display around the school. Drama is part of our provision within English lessons, with opportunities for school productions and tuition for those who wish to take external Drama exams.
