Pupils have the opportunity to take lessons in a range of dance genres, as well as to become involved in a number of co-curricular activities which allow them to learn new skills, experiment with choreography, work as part of a team and experience the excitement of performance.
Pupils are encouraged to get involved in all aspects of theatre production including: acting, directing, set design, costume, make-up, lighting, sound and front of house. Pupils can participate in a variety of drama-related clubs which will enable those that participate in them a chance to learn new skills, broaden their experience and learn to collaborate effectively with others.
Co-curricular provision is extensive, with a wealth of performing opportunities for all. Inclusive music-making is at the heart of what we do.
The Art School offers formal and informal (open studio session) extra art activities throughout the school week.
Ceramics forms an important part of the Artist life of the Art school. Here they develop many sculptural forms and encourage the students to use and range of materials and design elements.
The Design and Technology Department teach D&T up to A Level but outside of the academic timetable there are plenty of opportunities for students to get involved in design and craft activities and clubs. Three exciting opportunities are: Gadget Engineering, Origami, F1 - designing and making miniature F1 cars.
The Combined Cadet Force, which is optional, offers pupils the opportunity to challenge themselves through involvement in new and exciting activities.
Open Events are the perfect opportunity for you to come and see beautiful campus, meet wonderful pupils and ask staff any questions that you might have. They are holding the following events this term:
Open Mornings (for all entry points): Tuesday 20th September FULLY BOOKED, Friday 7th October,Thursday 10th November, Friday 9th December.Open Mornings (for Sixth Form entry): Thursday 15th September, Thursday 6th October, Tuesday 22nd November.
Each year they offer up to 10 Scholarships and Awards at each entry-level. The majority of Scholarships are honorary although a small number will carry a financial reward of up to 5% reduction in the annual fees. Scholarships can be augmented by a means-tested bursary.
