Description
MPW is an amazing place to study and work. Since the college was founded over 40 years ago they have created a special environment in which to learn and achieve. They are one of the country’s best known providers of bespoke fifth- and sixth-form education, offering GCSE and A levels in over 40 subjects. They welcome students of many different types, from Year 10 upwards, who are seeking a socially relaxed yet academically disciplined college to help them achieve their goals.
Facilities
Classroom teaching: Classroom facilities are designed to make the most of the teaching model of fewer than 10 students per group – seminar configurations and tutor presentations via whiteboard, interactive whiteboard or group discussion. Nearly every classroom is fully equipped with audio-visual facilities for screen-based learning. For lessons requiring practical work, there are six PC laboratories equipped with a computer for every student.
Outside the classroom: Students have access to computers throughout the college for private study including in each of the three libraries. The Internet Café provides a more relaxed environment for both study and leisure and is equipped with computers for student use. There is a cafeteria serving lunch, drinks and snacks. A wireless network is available throughout the college buildings for students to use with their own laptops, tablets or smartphones.

Things to note
Departmental organisation: Each subject is taught in its own specialist area under the control of the relevant Head of Department. They have seven Science laboratories: two for Biology, two for Chemistry and two for Physics, as well as one for Computer Science. The Arts Department has an art studio, two photography studios, a ceramics studio, a textiles studio and a Graphics studio. There are specialised rooms for many other subjects, including Drama, Film Studies, Music and Modern Languages. They also have use of a local theatre for drama classes.
Extra Curricular
Activities & Sports: At MPW, they organise social and physical activities all year round providing students with a fun and relaxed environment to help them stay healthy, interact with peers who share common interests, enhance leadership skills and prepare for the future. They believe studies are just part of the student experience; they encourage students to take part in social events ranging from raising awareness through a charity campaign, joining a debating session or simply stretching their legs and arms at the local climbing centre. Students who love sport will have plenty of opportunity to meet up with likeminded friends – or make new ones – through a large variety of sports clubs here at MPW.
