Roedean School is an independent day and boarding school for girls aged 11 to 18.

Flood-lit all-weather pitch, 5-a-side football pitch and the resurfacing and floodlighting of existing courts.

Things to note

  • Many girls in the school learn one or two instruments, and specialist tuition is given in piano, organ, all orchestral instruments, saxophone, guitar, orchestral percussion, drum kit, and solo singing.

  • All girls in Years 7-9 take Design Technology within the curriculum, making wooden and mechanical toys, and a variety of 2D laser-cutting pieces. The girls also have the opportunity to build skate-boards and electric guitars in co-curricular clubs.

  • Girls in the Sixth Form engage in constructed textiles, unusual paper-cutting, experimental photography and film, as well as high-quality painting, often drawing inspiration from contemporary artists, such as Yayoi Kusama and Murakami.

  • Performing Arts department at Roedean School, a vibrant, exciting, progressive department, incorporating singing, acting, dance and musical theatre. 

  • Roedean is becoming increasingly competitive in a wide range of sports, including Cricket, Volleyball, and Football, all of which have been introduced to the school recently, on top of three major sports, Hockey, Netball and Swimming.

Admission Details

Year 7, Year 9, and the Sixth Form are the main entry points, but a good number of girls also join the school in Year 8 and Year 10 each year.
