Description

St Andrew's Church of England VA Primary School, Totteridge is Independent Primary school for kids aged 4 to 11 (Gender - Mixed )

St Andrew's is a one form entry voluntary aided C of E school for children aged 4-11 in the London Borough of Barnet and the Diocese of St Albans. They are a happy, ambitious and inclusive school reflecting the rich diversity of families who live in our area.  Christian and British values underpin everything they do to ensure that children are safe, happy and treat each other with respect and care. The daily act of worship is central to the life of our school. In sharing and understanding God's love and the Christian principles which flow from it, we learn to respect the uniqueness of each one of them.  They enjoy close links with our parish church, St Andrew's Totteridge, and they worship there several times a year, with the children taking an active role in each service.

Facilities

Curriculum
At St Andrew’s our curriculum ensures excellent coverage of the National Curriculum (Years 1-6) and Foundation Stage Early Years Curriculum (Reception Children). They have organised the units of work for each subject area so that they can ensure a sound progression of learning. We also have subject leaders who are passionate about their curriculum area to support the teaching across all key stages. The Reception pupils learn both indoors and outdoors, experiencing a range of adult led and child initiated activities. They value and incorporate the children’s interests as they develop. As pupils approach their final half term of reception, they start to prepare for their transition to year 1. In years 1-6, they ensure that purposeful and cumulative learning continues, with teachers maximising opportunities for talk time, active, visual and audio learning. At all times, they focus on providing learning that is memorable, challenging, engaging and enjoyable.
