Description

Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School, Whetstone is a State Primary school for kids aged 4 to 11 (Gender - Mixed). They are a two form of entry voluntary aided Catholic Primary School situated in the London borough of Barnet, within the Diocese of Westminster. There are over 400 children and more than 60 staff here who are all "Learning together in God's Love". They aim to give all the children a great start in life by fostering a love of learning and a desire to be the best they can in whatever they do.

Facilities

  • The Original school founded by the Sisters of the Sacred Heart was replaced in the 1960s by the four storey building which still houses their classes. Imaginative building work since has led to the addition of a well-stocked library and ICT suite as well as a separate area for the specialist teaching of music.
  • The school has a large hall (which is often hired by local groups), and separate playgrounds for infants and juniors. A recent project funded by the Parents Association meant that they were able to replace a muddy area with artificial turf which has greatly added to the space the children have outside. The Parents Association has also provided much loved playtime equipment and play apparatus.
  • A new Foundation Stage unit was completed in 2013.
