Description

St John's Church of England VA Primary School, Ipswich is a State Primary school for kids aged 4 to 11 (Gender - Mixed )

St John’s is a church school with God at its centre. They are a  happy and friendly school. The purpose of this website is to give you an indication of what they are able to offer you and your child and hopefully capture a sense of the school and the values which underpin all we seek to achieve. They are very proud of the achievements of all those who form part of our learning community and the way children, parents, staff and governors work together.Starting school is often a young child’s first steps away from the family environment and they are very aware of the responsibility of our task. At St John’s they want to work closely with all our parents so that together we can provide the best possible environment and resources for all children to succeed. They believe that every child has their own skills and talents and they want to nurture these so that each child grows into a confident, happy individual who knows what they want to achieve and how they can use a good education to support them.

Curriculum
St John’s Curriculum is skill-based and research-led. In line with evidence-based guidance and research St John’s Curriculum actively recognises that Learning is a change to long-term memory. The aims, thus, are to ensure that our pupils experience a wide breadth of study and have, by the end of each Key Stage, a long-term memory of an ambitious body of knowledge. As such at St. John’s we encourage pupils to develop an enquiring mind and a love of learning. The Curriculum is founded upon the understanding that the world has meaning, purpose and design and is a means to seek how to live in the world, not just know about the world.
