St Mary Magdalen's RC Primary School, Mortlake is a State Primary School for kids aged 3 to 11 (Gender - co educational )
As a Catholic school, the Christian faith underpins all that they do. Through our strong links to St Peter and the Guardian Angel's Church and St. Gertrude’s Church, they work together to give all the children in the care the best possible chance at achieving their potential with the guidance of the gospel teachings of Jesus. They aim to provide your child with the experiences, knowledge and skills to inspire them to become successful life-long learners. They want the children to be the best they can be and this is underpinned by the vision, ‘No child is left behind’. They strive to ensure the needs of all the children are met and that they are given a wealth of experience and opportunities. They seek to ensure they receive a broad and balanced, diverse curriculum and one which values and celebrates the school community.
Curriculum
At. St Joseph’s the curriculum is based on our shared vision: no child is left behind; and our mission statement: Providing excellence in education so that each child reaches their full potential, developing an enquiring mind and a love of lifelong learning. The bespoke, diverse and anti-racist curriculum, with strong cross curricular links which reflect the school community, is relevant, engaging and innovative. The curriculum enables the children to ask questions and uncovers a world of possibilities- inspiring each and every child to reach their full potential. They endeavour to deliver excellence and expect all learners to be actively engaged and independent across the whole curriculum. The Catholic Ethos permeates through all that they do and is at the heart the spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of all learners.
P.E. and Sports Premium
The funding is provided by the Departments for Education, Health, and Culture, Media and Sport. The funding is allocated directly to primary schools and is ring- fenced. This means it must only be spent on improving the provision of P.E. and sport in schools. It is intended to make additional and sustainable improvements to the provision of P.E. for the benefit of all pupils to encourage the development of healthy, active lifestyles. At St. Joseph`s we recognise the contribution of P.E. to the health and well being (both physical and mental) of the children. They believe that a varied P.E. curriculum and extra-curricular opportunities have a positive influence on the achievements (academically, personally, socially and physically) of the children.
