The Aspire Hub, Bolton is Independent Primary school in Bolton for kids aged 3 to 11 (Gender - Mixed )

The Aspire Hub Bolton is the second of the small independent schools that is a unique, child centred setting carefully created to provide intense nurture provision to revisit the early years of children’s lives. The curriculum is child centred and based on Nurture Group theory; the principles are key to the very special learning environment.The day has a structured timetable giving children access to both structured times and free play.  Children are taken out in identified small group that targets their scores from the Beyond the Boxall.  They believe that children are unable to progress with their learning if they have not been able to secure the foundation of life learning.

Facilities

The Hub has regard to the National Curriculum and the Early Learning Goals. They are aware that children in mainstream and other private schools will cover more quantity of work than the children attending The Hub however, these children are currently unable to meet the developmental norms of the EYFS/NC.  They believe that by revisiting early life experiences with the quality and intensity of provision help to build the foundations of secure learning.
 

Features

Things to note

Key Workers focus more on experiences than ‘second hand’ knowledge and spend much time talking, laughing and looking with the children. The questions ‘why…?’, ‘what…?’, ‘where…?’ and “how…?’ are used often to fully engage the children in learning independently. Worksheets are rarely used, as they prefer recorded work to be original. Some work is sent home and some is kept in individual Learning Journeys as a record of progress. Tracking may be used as further assessment of progress. No child is criticised or made to feel less able than any other and children are encouraged to develop at their own pace, neither held back nor pushed too soon. Lessons include mixed ages, where older and more capable children help younger and less capable, which promotes stretch and challenge. More work is expected of the older children, in preparation of returning to their main stream school.
