The Blue Coat School is leading State Secondary school in Liverpool. This is a Selective school for kids age 11 to 18 years. Gender - Mixed

The Blue Coat School is a unique school. For over 300 years we have played a vital role in shaping the lives of Liverpool boys and girls - helping them to realise their academic potential and providing them with the skills and values they need for life’s journey. We believe in the power and value of education to change lives and change the world.
 

Facilities

Curriculum
They are the singular grammar school in Liverpool and have a rich heritage and tradition within the city. We are a multi-cultural co-educational school, rich with diverse cultural and religious backgrounds. Our aim is meet the learning needs of our highly able learners with their holistic development at the centre of our provision. We are an 11-18 school with almost all students entering professions and most doing so after entering Higher Education.

Sixth Form
Thank you for your interest in The Blue Coat School. We are incredibly proud of our sixth form and our sixth formers. Nearly 400 students who achieve outstandingly well each year and go on to great university courses or employment. The balanced and well-rounded curriculum that meets our students’ needs. The students as they develop a wide range of knowledge, skills, attributes, and attitudes that ready them for future learning and life.

Extra Curricular
The focus on character education is central to the culture, values, and vision of our school. We combine a rigorous and stimulating academic education with wider personal development. This helps to nurture students to become well-educated, rounded, and responsible young adults. The aim is to provide a rich learning environment through a co-curriculum which focuses on the provision of a series of high-quality activities across a wide range of different domains. These activities complement the core curriculum and support students’ intellectual, moral, emotional, social, creative, and physical development. They are an integral and essential part of a holistic education in which we recognise that individuals flourish in supportive and positive surroundings, where their abilities and talents are encouraged and acknowledged.

Admission Details

Year 7
The Blue Coat School is a mixed selective school for students aged 11 – 18, which converted to Academy status on 1st March 2012. We are over 300 years old so we are rich in tradition, yet we are forward-looking in ideas and technology. Whilst we have a reputation for Academic results, there are many events and activities which make The Blue Coat School experience very exciting and rewarding.

Sixth Form
The Blue Coat School Sixth Form is the largest in the city, with 350 students studying in our Year 12 and Year 13. They have great flexibility in our curriculum – there are 18 A level courses to choose from and it is rare that students aren’t able to study the combination they choose.
