The Perse School Cambridge is a co-educational day school for children aged 3-18, who attend the Pelican, Prep, Upper or Sixth Form.

Set within four acres of spacious parkland, the Prep features a mix of traditional and modern buildings in which a purposeful and stimulating environment for learning is created. Among the Prep’s extensive facilities are two state-of-the-art science labs and a fully-equipped ICT suite, modern art and design technology rooms, music practice and music technology rooms, and a dedicated drama studio.The Prep also benefits from nine acres of playing fields on its doorstep, including a full-sized all-weather pitch and two netball courts.
The Upper is situated in an attractive 27-acre site with extensive playing fields and recreational space, including two full-sized floodlit all-weather pitches and five netball courts.At the heart of the Upper lies the award-winning Peter Hall Performing Arts Centre. Opened in 2018, this impressive structure provides first-class performance facilities for drama, music and lectures and features a 370-seat auditorium, café and rehearsal and exhibition spaces, set within the elegant Ellison Court.
Other facilities include high specification IT suites, science labs and classrooms, a newly-refurbished lecture theatre, purpose-built sports centre, sports studio, climbing wall and strength and conditioning suite, a music centre with rehearsal hall and extensive practice rooms, art studios with graphic design suite and gallery, and a dedicated outdoor pursuits centre.
Sixth Form students enjoy the use of a stunningly refurbished common room with soft seating, music, table football and a hot drinks machine.Students also have access to a wide range of areas including the library and Performing Arts Centre café, where they can quietly work. Students enjoy their own dining facilities in the Sixth Form Café and newly built Hersch Room.

Scholarships
Upper School: In Year 7 and 9 they award music scholarships.Perse pupils in Year 7 and Year 9 will receive an invitation to audition for a music scholarship at the end of the academic year.mAt audition, candidates will be asked to perform at least one piece on their instrument(s), undertake short sight-reading and aural tests, and discuss their musical ambitions and interests with the Director of Music and a specialist in their first-study instrument. Accompaniment will be provided, where needed, by a member of the music department. The audition will last between 20-30 minutes.mScholarship awards are not means-tested and are one-off payments of £450. Sixth Form: They offer a small number of scholarships each year to students of exceptional merit and potential. These awards are not means-tested but are limited in financial value and are one-off payments of £450. All candidates who sit on the entrance tests are automatically considered for an academic scholarship, awarded on performance in the entrance tests. There is no need to apply. Candidates can apply for a maximum of two other scholarships from Dr Perse, art, drama, music and sport via the scholarship section of the application form, and each of these will have their own assessments.
