Vinehall School is Independent Secondary school in Non-selective for kids aged 3 to 14 (Gender - 3 to 14 )
Vinehall is a leading co-educational day, boarding school and nursery for children between the ages of 2 and 13. The children leave Vinehall to go onto a wide range of the UK’s most prestigious Senior Schools. They foster a love of learning for its own sake by encouraging our children to ask questions and think for themselves. The children develop the necessary skills to work productively and to become resilient, resourceful and reflective learners, unafraid to try something new or of making mistakes.Children come first at Vinehall. They believe that in providing a wide range of opportunities they can allow the children to achieve success, instilling in them a strong sense of purpose and self-confidence. The staff and parents work together to create a warm and thriving community, where kindness and tolerance towards others are leading values. The School’s ethos is encapsulated in our motto, ‘to do our best for the benefit of others’.
Nursery
The Early Years of a child’s education are crucial to their future development, enjoyment and achievement. At Vinehall they provide high quality early learning through play in a happy, fun and caring environment. The youngest children are nurtured in a vibrant, family atmosphere and participate joyfully in whole school activities and celebrations. The Little Vines Nursery children are accommodated in the purpose-built Pre-Prep School which benefits from a hall for dance, music and gym activities, as well as a library and art area. The Nursery opens out on to a large, safe outdoor play area for the youngest children. This area has imaginative and investigation zones, a mud kitchen and a woodland exploratory area with dens and logs for climbing over. Wellington boots and waterproofs are essential!

At Vinehall they provide high-quality learning, supporting and challenging individuals as appropriate through a creative learning journey approach and engaging children’s literature. The curriculum is stimulating and the children enjoy a rich learning experience which is fun and full of exciting activities such as outings, interacting with visitors, gardening, exploring the woodland and cooking. A Traction Man learning journey encourages the children to set up adventure stories in the woods in order to produce big books with our friends as well as designing safety suits and pulleys to help him rescue his side-kick, Scrubbing Brush. The children are taught in a modern building with spacious, bright classrooms and access to the outside. The Pre-Prep has a selection of wonderful outdoor play areas as well as a designated outdoor learning area and woodland classroom. The close proximity to the Prep School enables the younger children to use all the facilities including the indoor heated swimming pool, computing suite, theatre, magnificent sports complex and playing fields. We make full use of the extensive grounds enjoying rambles through the snow in winter, growing plants in the summer and seeking the thrills of science investigations throughout the year.
Prep
In the Prep School, we want pupils to enjoy a relevant and engaging learning experience that enables them to think for themselves and flourish as confident, independent learners. At the heart of everything we do, whether it be in the science laboratory or on the stage, when debating ethical issues or on the sports field, are five dispositions that they encourage all pupils to develop and demonstrate. These dispositions are the fundamental skills that we believe will enable our pupils to become creative and critical thinkers able to excel in the 21st Century world.

SCHOLARSHIPS AND BURSARIES
They offer 11+ scholarships across the different disciplines of school life to those pupils who show both high levels of interest and potential. Awards are offered to pupils who, in our view, we feel are likely candidates for a similar award as they move into their senior school at 13+. 11+ scholarships are offered in Academics, Sport, Drama, Music and Art.A limited number of scholarships are being offered to pupils who are currently in Year 6. These scholarships are for children who are looking to apply for similar scholarships to their chosen senior schools. Children applying for these scholarships are expected to be working at a high level in their field. The benchmark for awarding scholarships will be senior schools’ expectations of potential scholars at 13+. Pupils’ general conduct and approach to school life will also be an important factor in the decision-making process.
