Nursery
For boys and girls, two and a half to four years old. The nursery is full of interest and imaginative play. The nursery backs onto our secret garden, a leafy outdoor space for children to explore, get muddy and grow. It’s the start of a special journey at Westbourne HouseEach child is nurtured, supported and loved every step of the way. Children here learn through creative play absorbing phonics through art, maths through music, speech via cooking, and science in the woods. The curriculum is designed to teach children amazing skills using educational, fun, interesting and confidence-building methods.
Pre-Prep
The bright, modern Pre-Prep is full of life, imagination and laughter. They know all the children extremely well: what makes them tick, where their strengths lie, where they need support. They mould their educational experience to bring light into their eyes and to enable them to aim high and be all that they can be.My teaching team, with extraordinary expertise and intuition, gives children many different ways to experience learning and express themselves. They feel privileged that the Pre-Prep opens up a world of opportunities to the children: collaborating at Forest School, kayaking on the lake, striving for excellence on the sports field, competing in a swimming gala, performing on stage, singing in a concert, showing in an art exhibition
Prep School
They discover and nurture the character, personality, dreams, potential – in fact, magic - of each child. They ensure they make the most of the world of experiences offered to them and cultivate curiosity and reward initiative. They do this within a kind, caring and happy environment. The children leave with the reasoning tools and forward drive they need to make confident and ambitious decisions on the way to their chosen future. They encourage and champion kindness and, regardless of age, new pupils, both day and boarding, quickly feel settled, happy and appreciated for who they are.
School Life
A wide range of stimulating and energetic after school clubs is on offer, which engage pupils and give them the opportunity to discover and explore their passions. They have a range of childcare options to help busy parents manage family schedules.
Personal Development
Every child has the potential to be a leader and we believe it is never too early to start teaching leadership skills. By practising now at school, many of the hurdles of public speaking and performing, including nerves, can be overcome. They encourage all our pupils to follow the Westbourne Way, a strong moral code that maps out how our community wants to interact and grow together.
