GrBarrow Hall Stables – BHS Approved Riding School & Livery Yard. GrBarrow Hall Stables is a 5-star licensed and BHS-approved establishment set in the beautiful Suffolk countryside, just a short drive from Bury St Edmunds and Newmarket, with easy access from the A14. We offer riding tuition from age 5 and Lead Rein walks from age 3, led by BHS, ABRS, and NVQ/ND qualified instructors. Our lessons include group, private, and semi-private riding, hacking, National Diploma training, BHS training, and stable management sessions and clubs. The stables host in-house shows and competitions and feature 3 riding arenas fully equipped with jumps, poles, and dressage markers, a cross-country training paddock and course, a show jumping paddock, an all-weather canter track, and on- and off-site hacking.

Lesson options include group lessons for adults and children (6–8 riders) with 30- or 60-minute sessions (£22 / £31), lesson bundles (10 x 30- or 60-min sessions, £210 / £300), and private 1:1 tuition on weekdays from 10:00–15:30 (£36 / £48 for 30/45 minutes). Group Lessons: Adult & Child lessons are available for 6-8 riders, with durations of 30 or 60 minutes. Lesson bundles are also offered, with 10 group lessons available for the same number of riders and durations.
Private Lessons: Private 1:1 tuition in the arena is available on weekdays from 10:00 to 15:30 and 16:00 to 17:00, as well as on weekends. Each session can be 30 or 45 minutes long.
Semi-Private Lessons: Semi-private lessons are suitable for private parties who wish to book a lesson in the arena. Parties organize their participants independently. Sessions are available for 2-3 riders, 4-5 riders, or 6 riders, at different weekday and weekend times. Durations can be 30, 45, or 60 minutes depending on the session.
Hacking: Riders can enjoy a countryside ride on horseback. Onsite hacks are suitable for novice riders who can walk and trot independently, while offsite hacks are for intermediate and advanced riders who can walk, trot, and canter independently. Care and Cuddles – £16.00 per person: (4-6 participants). A 30-minute hands-on session with the ponies. Children can learn how to groom and care for the ponies, making them look beautiful. Suitable for ages 4 and up.
Love to Ride – £30.00 per person: (4-6 participants). Enjoy 30 minutes learning how to groom, care for, and tack up/untack the ponies, followed by a 15-minute Pony Walk around our paddocks and tracks. Suitable for ages 4 and up. Extend the Pony Walk to 30 minutes for an additional £5.00 per person.
Pony Crazy – £35.00 per person: (4-6 participants). Enjoy a 30-minute Pony Care session and choose one of the following to create your own tailored Birthday Party: 30 min Pony Walk, 30 min Riding Lesson & 30 min Gymkhana Games. Suitable for ages 5 and up.
