Founded in 1989 by former park ranger Bill Beeley and supported by the charity Friends of Beechley Stables (FOBS), the stables are part of the National Riding for the Disabled Association. Beechley Stables Riding for the Disabled Group is based in Allerton, Liverpool. We provide fun and therapy for disabled children and adults.
Beechley Stables RDA is part of the National Riding for the Disabled Association. Based in Liverpool (North West England) and provide riding lessons for disabled adults and children from the ages of 6+. Medical professionals recognise that there are significant therapeutic benefits for the rider. The warmth and three dimensional movement of the horse is transmitted through the riders body, gradually making it more relaxed and supple, reducing spasms and improving balance, posture and co-ordination. For children and adults with disabilities, the companionship of animals is particularly invaluable, as many have trouble making connections to people.
