Features

  • Species: We hold over 130 species of birds (over 1,200 birds in total) plus beautiful Red pandas, rare Red squirrels, tiny Harvest Mice plus, lovely mini donkeys, fun pygmy goats and sheep, and cute rabbits and guinea pigs. There is a wonderful selection to see. Many of our birds are on “breeding loan” to other collections, who in turn lend us birds to pair up here.
  • Gardens of Paradise: The grounds extend to 14 acres around the Reynolds family home, built in 1861 by the ‘Harvey’s of Hayle’ who established and ran the iron foundry in Hayle during the 18th & 19th century. The gardens are designed to complement the exotic wildlife at Paradise Park, and to provide plenty of nectar for native pollinators.
  • Jungle Express Train Zebedee: Enjoy a ride on our Jungle Express Train. On good weather days Zebedee, the Jungle Express Train, will be out for a spin! Board the train near the picnic lawn and set off through the gardens of Glanmor House on a small route of two circuits around the house grounds (not the whole Park).
  • JungleBarn Indoor Play Centre: Our huge indoor ‘JungleBarn’ play centre is fabulous fun whatever the weather. With giant slides, challenging soft play and toddlers’ zone with ball fountain. Our smallest visitors can have a good romp in safety in the special toddlers’ area. Older children and adults can enjoy the massive, multi -level soft play area for a good scramble around.
  • Toddler Pre-school Playgroups: Paradise Park makes a great venue for your playgroups. A fascinating and stimulating environment for all ages, with opportunities to get up close to animals and the colourful and fun indoor JungleBarn featuring a toddlers ball pool and fountain, plus plenty of seating and a snack bar.
  • Tropics exhibit: The Tropics is our new open air development which is home to tropical birds in spacious flights. Designed to get as much sunshine as possible, the aviaries are surrounded with exotic gardens featuring plants which thrive in Cornwall’s mild climate. There are many beautiful parrot species to see. During the winter the species include Palm Cockatoos, Mitchell’s Lorikeet, Hyacinth Macaws, Pesquet’s Parrots and Sun Conures a big flock of chattering Budgerigars.
  • Bird in Hand Pub: The Bird In Hand Pub in Hayle, is at the entrance to Paradise Park, and perfect for a evening out listening to live music. The Victorian building was originally built in 1860 as a stables and coach house for the Harvey Family who lived in Glanmor House at the centre of Paradise Park. Part of the character is that you can still see the structure of the stables inside the pub.

  • Parking: Free parking available.
