Pevlings Farm Riding & Livery Stables, established in 1985, provides a safe, friendly, and informal environment for riders of all ages. The stables cater mainly to leisure riders, welcoming complete beginners as well as more experienced riders, with a weight limit of 12 stone (76 kg). Lessons are offered individually or in groups on carefully selected horses and ponies, with experienced instructors ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience. Floodlit all-weather arenas and summer cross-country jumps are available, along with quiet country lane hacking for competent riders. DIY livery is offered in two stable blocks, providing flexible care options and access to riding school facilities including arenas, cross-country jumps, mirrors, and grazing fields. '

Activities include Fun Days for children aged 5–12, Clear Round Jumping competitions, Groom & Go sessions, Let’s Go Riding experiences, Get Ready to Ride lessons, Pony Pals sessions for ages 9–13, Pamper a Pony sessions, and the Helpers Club for riders aged 10+ to gain hands-on horse care experience.   • Riding School: Riding lessons are offered in floodlit all-weather 40m x 20m arenas, with summer rides in the fields using a variety of cross-country jumps. Hacking is available on quiet country lanes and bridlepaths, but off-road riding is not available immediately local. Lessons are for leisure riders rather than competition riders.
    • Adults usually ride in private lessons (30 or 45 minutes) with small group options available. Popular 'Take Back the Reins' courses include grooming, tacking up, a hack, and a session on lunging, aimed at new and lapsed riders. There is a weight limit of 12 stone (76 kg) for all riders.
    • Children usually ride in group lessons, with some private lessons available. There is no minimum age for lessons. Tiny tot/lead rein lessons are 20 minutes, and beginner riders’ lead rein lessons and those just off the leading rein also last 20 minutes. Standard group lessons are 45 minutes, and private lessons are 30 or 45 minutes.

  • DIY Livery: One space is available for DIY livery. Two stable blocks with indoor stables and four new stables in the back yard accommodate liveries. DIY livery is offered with or without assistance, covering holidays or regular absences. Mares or geldings are accepted to fit the mixed herd.     • Fun Days: Held during school holidays from 11am–3pm, suitable for beginner and novice riders aged 5–12 years, combining riding lessons and pony care sessions. Packed lunch required; participants take home a rosette.
    • Clear Round Jumping: Competitions throughout the year starting small and gradually increasing in height. Rosettes awarded for each clear round; year-end Clear Round Champion awarded a special rosette.
    • Groom & Go: One-hour experience for beginner or novice riders including grooming and a riding lesson. Separate sessions for children and adults.
    • Let's Go Riding: One-hour session comprising an arena lesson followed by a ride up the lane or around the field, suitable for novice and beginner leading rein riders with leaders and escorts on foot.
    • Get Ready to Ride: One-hour experience for novice riders including grooming and a ride up the lane or around the village. Separate sessions for children and adults.
    • Pony Pals: One-and-a-half-hour session for children aged 9–13 years who ride comfortably off the leading rein. Includes grooming and a lesson, available during school holidays.
    • Pamper a Pony: Up to one-hour session for people not wishing to ride, including grooming, washing, or walking the pony. Supervised by staff. Available weekdays 10am–3pm, suitable for all ages.
    • Helpers Club: Riders aged 10+ can join to gain hands-on care experience and assist in lessons for younger riders. Helpers complete Training Plans and Log Books in Equestrian Care, progressing to Star Award Scheme and potentially earning riding lessons. British Horse Society Riding School Certificate of Competence also achievable.
    • Local Shows: Opportunities for riders to hire a horse/pony to compete at local shows.
    • Pony Club Centre: Encourages riders to join The Pony Club as a Centre Member to achieve Progressive Awards, Achievement Badges, Efficiency Tests, and participate in Centre League Competitions.
