The Venture Centre in Isle of Man, is the island’s premier outdoor activity centre. Family-run since 1981, it offers a unique countryside setting for adventure, fitness, and team-building. With lakes, glens, cliffs, and purpose-built facilities, it’s the perfect destination for schools, families, groups, and thrill-seekers.

Visitors can enjoy activities such as coasteering, gorge walking, archery, abseiling, kayaking, canoeing, bushcraft, and raft building. The centre also has a purpose-built assault course and permanent archery range, with fully trained instructors guiding all sessions. Options are available year-round, from water sports in summer to bushcraft and climbing in cooler months.

Prices are affordable, with coasteering and gorge walking at £35, abseiling, archery, kayaking, canoeing, or raft building from £15, and sailing at £30. Multi-activity sessions are also available.

Coasteering: Coasteering involves traversing areas of coastline by swimming, climbing around the rocks and jumping off them! This activity always leaves people with a smile on their face and is perfect for those who love the water. All our Coasteering guides are trained in accordance with National Coasteering Charter Guidelines.
Gorge Walking: Gorge walking is one of our most popular activities! A favourite with school and youth groups, families, stag and hen groups and as a team building activity for corporate groups. Gorge walking involves climbing waterfalls and swimming across ponds while negotiating your way up a river bed. We can organise sessions to suit most ages although we recommend a minimum age of 10 years in the summer months.
Archery: Have a go at Archery at the Venture Centre on our permanant range, under the cover of our dutch barn, or on our field archery ranges. Our qualified instructors will give you an introduction to the equipment used and teach you the basics of archery. You will then have plenty of chance to get to grips with shooting at the targets. Our instructors will guide you through different games throughout the session and offer coaching tips to ensure you and your group have an enjoyable experience.
Abseiling: Introductory abseiling sessions take place on our onsite training walls at the Venture Centre. We use our two onsite training walls of 15ft and 25ft to build up your confidence and abseiling technique, followed by a 40ft freefall abseil out off our Oak tree. For those feeling more adventurous then try our Maughold Head off site abseil of 110ft, taking place down a dramatic sea cliff to the beach below.
Paddle sports: The Mooragh Park offers the perfect location for taster and beginner kayak sessions. The sheltered water and shallow depth (only 1.5m max) mean that you can concentrate on learning skills and having fun in a relaxed environment. The Mooragh Park also offers the perfect location for taster and beginner canoe sessions. Our flat water river trips offer you the oppurtunity to take a journey exploring the lower reaches of the Sulby river. These are perfects for families and large and small groups.
Bushcraft: Our Bushcraft sessions are run at a level appropriate to the group and can involve shelter building, fire building, fire lighting techniques, foraging skills and cooking on an open fire. Groups will light their own fires using flint and steel and cook their own food over an open fire. Sessions are based on site in our bushcraft zone or at local beaches. A popular venue is the secluded beach at Dhoon Glen.
Assault Course: Our site lends itself to a very unique assault course comprising of; The Mole Hole, Monkey Bars,Chicken walk, Rope Bridge, plank walk, traverse wall, Stepping tyres, Under and Over Bars, The Wall, Tunnels, Scramble Net, Balance Beams, Postmans Walk, Tiger Trap, Vine Walk, Parallel Wires, Parallel Bars, Net Crawl and of course our Zip Line. Work as a team to complete the route or compete against each other.
Raft Building: Raft Building and racing provides a great opportunity to develop team work in a fun and competitive way. The group will be shown basic skills on how to build rafts and then under carefull supervision they will build their own raft and race it on the Lake. All raft building sessions take place on our sheltered lake at the Mooragh Park in Ramsey.

By Public transport: No.3 bus from Douglas ask for theventure centre or by by the Manx Electric Railway ask for the Lewaigue stop.
